"I would not trust him to fix a tricycle much less a car. He's shop damaged my transmission when he did a flywheel change costing me over 4000dollars. He's shop use to be good but don't take responsibility when they mess up. first of all it was not 6weeks it was 14 days and I actually talked to you in person and said you damaged 1t then you went to Mexico a week later so this is not the first time you are hearing about it. When in for flywheel change and it came back out with damaged transmission. 2 weeks later. I have witnesses in fishtown that will attest to this and a receipt showing 2 weeks. When I told you about it you said you were going on vacation for 2 weeks to Mexico just before Thanksgiving. Had to wait 2 more weeks to get my key back off you cause you were in Mexico. Never had a problem with my transmission till your shop moved. It 14 days later I have major transmission problems right before Thanksgiving. The starter you did still don't work half the time."

"My best friend and me were on a Roadtrip thru the states. We had bought our van in New York and before Boston we had a problem with the engine. It wasn't running on all 8 cylinders and we had a lot of vibrations when going above 15 mph. After trying numerous workshops along our route. We made it to Philly. After a few attempts at different workshops we found Smittys Auto Repair which was recommended to us by an other workshop who didn't want to work on our van. After speaking with Tommy (Owner) he asked us to check for a few things ourselves because at the time he was to busy to look at it. Unfortunately we still didn't know what the issue was so we went to Tommy again a day later. He checked our car (even though we didn't have an appointment) and found the issue after 10 minutes. The spark plug of the second cylinder of bank 1 was oily. He allowed us to purchase a special spark plug (with a defouler) at autozone over his company so we'd get it cheaper than usual. He even called autozone in advance to let them know that we're coming so we wouldn't have an issue there. He didn't even charge us anything for his work. It was really good to finally have someome who could tell you what the issue was and who was really honest and helpful. We had other workshops who would tell us to exchange the throttle body for 500 dollar or exchange the whole ignition system for 800 dollar to set a basis and start from there. Tommy found the problem in like 10 minutes. He was really honest and helpful. He is a trustworthy man and if I would live in Philly my car/Van/truck would never see another workshop than Smittys Auto Repair because you can simply rely on him. "Tom was very very helpful! He took the time to hear our problem and although he was busy for the next days, he gave us advice what we could do to find the issue and possible solutions. After we investigated the issue further, we came back and he took a more thorough look at it and we finally found the issue. He was even kind enough to bring a diagnostic toolkit the next day, so we could verify the findings. Really rare to find this kind of mechanics. Would recommend 100% without doubt. Even the guy from the AutoZone told us, that Tom was an amazing guy."
