Reviews of Crystal Springs Resort
"My husband made a reservation at this hotel several months ago. The next day he was contacted by a concierge who said he would call again 30 days out to make dining reservations. He never called. We went online today to make dining reservations and there are no decent times available at any desirable restaurant. As a result, we have to cancel my birthday trip to this resort."
""Eh..." - That's pretty much how we felt about our weekend here. It was nice, but certainly didn't receive the value we were expecting for the money we spent. The things we enjoyed the most were things we had to pay extra for. Rooms: Our room was okay - the bathroom door didn't close all the way. Had an issue with the thermostat that the front desk really didn't handle well. The Ice/ Vending room didn't have an ice maker and the front desk told us that if we ever need ice, just bring the ice bucket down from the 3rd floor to the front desk and they would fill it for us (for a "4 star resort" charging what they do, I would at least expect them to offer bringing ice to the room for us). Food: Food was pretty good overall, except for one experience in the Crystal Tavern. My wife and I have sent food back 2 times in our entire life (this being one of them). Wife ordered halibut for her birthday dinner. Took first bite and it was cold - cut it open and it was very clearly not cooked. We asked the waitress if she thought it looked right and she said "absolutely not," apologized profusely and told us she would not eat that. She took it back, came back and told us that they were going to cook a new piece of fish - we thanked her. About 1 minute later, a kid comes from the kitchen with the same plate, with the same piece of fish (still cut into different pieces by my wife) and says "sorry about that" and drops it on the table. Waitress came over when she saw him bring it out and looked confused, as did we, and she said "I am so sorry... that is the same piece of fish and it still isn't cooked, I don't know what's going on back there. Is there a different menu item I can get you instead? They clearly can't get this right and I don't want to keep you waiting while we go back and forth with them." So my wife got pasta instead because we figured it would be quick and they couldn't really screw that up - meanwhile, my food got cold waiting for all of this to go down, but I just ate it like that anyway because we don't like to complain. The waitress was incredibly nice and apologized, but still, not something you'd expect from a 4-star resort that charges what they charge. The got 2 chances to make the fish, screwed it up both times, and then told us to order something else because the kitchen couldn't get it right LOL not the "high class experience" they advertise Pool: The biosphere pool is pretty neat I guess, but we were just expecting...more... It's a cool pool, but we were expecting to be like "WOW this is so awesome!" and instead we were like "yeah, this is pretty cool." Spa: We had a good experience at the Spa - that was the best part of our trip. Overall, there's no way we would stay here again for the insane amount of money it costs because we really didn't get the value we expected (not even close). I would probably consider a spa day there, but no way I'd book a room and spend more than a day at this place."
"My husband booked us a 2 night stay. Experienced the biosphere pool but my son didn’t got a chance to try out water slide. They were playing a movie, elf and that got everyone entertained while swimming. It’s nice that they did have a bar and offer food and drinks. It was very family friendly"
