"I took my 2007 Expedition to a local Ford dealer to troubleshoot noise coming from the drivetrain. On a hunch, I spoke to Dave at Hollywood Transmission as well. He told me that the dealer will most likely blame it on a bad torque converter, but it's probably just overdue for a transmission flush and service, as torque converters rarely go bad. Sure enough, the Ford dealer determined that it needed a new torque converter, at a cost of $2500! I had Hollywood Transmission do the flush and service instead (using Amsoil transmission fluid) for around $700 and the problem was fixed, saving me $1800! Dave is very knowledgeable and took the time to thoroughly explain the possible issues with my vehicle, even before he knew I would be giving him my business. In talking with him, you can tell he's passionate about doing quality work and keeping his customers well informed throughout the process. When I got there to get my Ramcharger today, I was shown some of the old parts, and he even went over was was installed. As for the first reveiwer, I doubt that he ever had work done at this shop.
