The UPS Store

"On January the 8th I went into the store to mail a package back for a refund. I presented a barcode that was on my phone and the man at the counter scanned the barcode and I also asked him for a piece of tape to secure the box. He charged me $1 for the tape. He placed the box on the floor and I asked him was he going to take the box? He said Scout's honor. I got you. There was a lawn forming in the store so I figured he was just trying to get people out expeditiously. He did print out a tracking receipt. I left the store a little leery because I really wanted that box taped up because of the content of the box. It's been 13 days later and I received an email from the intended receiver of the package saying that the package had not reached them. I went to the UPS store and pulled up the barcode and I noticed that I had made a mistake because that package should have been returned via the United States post office. However, the employee scanned. The barcode took the package and charged me $1 and now the package is missing. They said that they take packages for the United States post office as a courtesy. And I said to them you didn't tell me that this was not the right shipping source, and had you told me that I would have taken it to the post office. They said it was just a courtesy for the month of December and I said the package was mailed in January. Last Monday. They told me that I had to go to the post office and file a claim with them and that either the post office or the intended receiver would refund me the purchase price. That makes no sense to me. So they're not going to be held accountable because I gave them my package thinking that I had the right location. However, they took my package knowing full well that it should have been returned via the United States post office for shipping. This is fraud. I spoke with the store manager Shirley and she said that UPS has nothing to do with this. How could they have nothing to do with this if they received my package fraudulently? I asked her who her supervisor was? She said that she didn't have a supervisor. I asked her who signs her paycheck and she says they are an independent franchise. I asked her for the 800 number for UPS customer service. She gave me an 800 number that she knows full. well, no person actually answers the phone there. It's an automated system. This store is responsible for my package but they want me to file a claim with the United States post office so that the post office or the intended receiver of the package could refund me my money for the item! They're going to wash their hands of this ...unacceptable! And as far as I know when you intercept US MAIL THAT IS FRAUD AND A FEDERAL OFFENSE. Missing packages appears to ta thing at this location. They need to be investigated. in my opinion."

"Theresa at this store is very nasty, rude and unprofessional. I went to pick up a package in which I received notice from UPS that it was delivered. The notice also stated CRUZ is the one who received the package and it was left at the front desk. A young man "looking" for the package says he couldn't find it. They then questioned me whether it would be in a box or a bag. I said it should be in a box. Theresa then decides to ask what I ordered and says "not to be in your business" after I stood in the store for more than 20 minutes they gave up looking and brushed me off stating I needed to call UPS because it wasn't delivered there. I asked the gentleman if he could look again because I would be pissed if I had to leave and come back to the store and my package turned out to actually be there and he says "I'll try" however Theresa decides to chime in stating "If you give him a chance, if they just delivered it I don't know how soon you expect it to be here" She needs to be reprimanded, trained on how to deal with customers because this is unacceptable. After all of that my package is found and she says "It was in a bag which is why we couldn't find it" which made no sense. It was a bag with a box in it so it shouldn't have matter at all what I ordered came in if the package had my name on it. Not once did anyone ask for the tracking number or anything to help find the package sooner. As many of times as I have come to this particular store it seems to always be her who has mouth (now this was the first time I had to deal with it myself) but whoever her manager is needs to deal with it quick."

"Inconsistent experiences are the experience at this UPS location. A few months ago I came in 2 hours before closing to ship a package and the male associate told me they weren't accepting packages at this time. After a confusing back and forth conversation a woman associate came from the back and said she could help ship the package. I tried to ship Amazon returns and forgot ONE piece of tape for closing ONE end of the box. The male associate today told me that he had to charge me a dollar for a piece of tape. So I can't ship packages during open hours which is against business policies, and yet they proudly enforce rules about extra charges. Inconsistent and very disappointing UPS location."

"A very convenient and helpful UPS store in north Philly. Located in shopping center with Vision Works, a dry cleaner, and several other stores. There is plenty of parking out front and the manger has been helpful and efficient."
