"Stopped in for a New Year's Day pizza. The pizza was good. The crust was soft and pillowy and the Mozzarella di bufala was just right. Overall a very soft and delicious Neapolitan pizza. The meatball panini was even better and probably my favorite of the two."
"Solid 3-4 stars for decent, quick pizza. Happy hour is a pretty good deal for this place. $13 pizzas, $6 apps, deals on beer, etc. The crust had amazing flavor, however, the cheese and sauce were just ok. The middle of the pizza wasn't cooked as much as I would have liked, but the pepperoni had solid flavor. Arancini was okay at best - I would've loved for the sausage to have more flavor. Not sure I'd want to pay full price for their pizza, but for happy hour, it's alright. Service was great and everyone was friendly."
"We came here after seeing a favorable article in a local publication stating that Pupatella "has been recognized by an Italian-based critics group as one of world’s most excellent Pizzerias.” We ordered a Formia salad and a Diavola pizza, and while the pizza was very good, the salad was just ok. Overall, this pizzería is very good."
"Delicious Neapolitan pizza. Another review mentioned a “soggy” middle, and honestly for this type of pizza, in my experience at a variety of establishments that serve this style, it’s about 50/50 on whether or not they are a little soft centered but it never changes how great they taste. Fried mozzarella was good-can’t really go wrong with deep fried cheese. Taste, quality, speed and price was just right."
"I can see why this is such a popular neighborhood pizza place across DC. It’s casual yet quality. Between the 3 of us, we shared arancini with eggplant. Super tasty and well prepared. Then we did two pizzas: a diavola and a prosciutto arugula. We enjoyed both equally. Their drinks were very satisfying as well. I’d eat here frequently if I lived nearby."
