"So as someone new to Northampton, I really don't get the hype about this place. We ordered from them three separate times. Only one of the three times was the food decent. The last time my pizza literally disintegrated in my hands. It was such a sloppy mess I ended up wearing half of it. But honestly I have come to the conclusion in the last several years that most people accept bland food as quality. Just my honest opinion. There are several better pizza places in the area. I will say that the atmosphere and the people that work there are very friendly. Order: large pepperoni pizza with extra cheese well done Cheesesteak with sauce and onions, add mushrooms."

"Read the reviews and asked a few folks I know, and they said hit-or-miss. I and the family went and had oil infused chicken nuggets, which had no flavor. We had what is considered a higher end pizza, which is a white pizza, and the cheeses were bland. I had to use salt on my pizza??!!!! No way!!! Should have just made a boxed/frozen pizza. Honestly, it would have been better. Won't be back for this swill."

"Awesome place, the people behind the counter are very nice and very knowledgeable. I asked them for a recommendation on their best slice and they told me to work my way up from a regular cheese size to other ones due to the fact that if I started with more complex ones it would overpower the flavor of the regular cheese one."

"I grew up in Northampton and my family got pizza from Mario's all the time because it was apparently the best in the area, but I was a little kid and of course all pizza tastes good to kids. I moved to Philadelphia for school and went back to Mario's years ago, like 2010 or so, and the pizza was still great. Today (10/7/2023) I was in the Lehigh Valley for the first time in years and stopped by with some friends to see if it was still as good as I remember, and it's STILL great... probably the best pizza you can get in eastern PA. I can't say anything about anything there other than the pizza, but Mario's obviously knows what they're doing. The only bummer is that they charge for extra sauce on the pizza, and $1 for a fountain drink refill if you eat in. Not a deal breaker for what is probably the best pizza you can find anywhere in the Lehigh Valley though. Definitely recommend if you've never been there."
