Reviews of Zepeda Auto Repair
"They are the best mechanics I've ever had. They are quick yet super thorough! They also don't try to upsell you claiming that things are broken when they aren't which I get all the time being a woman. They charge extremely fairly, I actually feel like I'm paying for the parts and labor instead of extra charges to line someone's wallet. These guys are super super nice, I recommend them to everyone."
"Had an excellent experience here and glad that I met Elmer and the team. They are honest, reliable, and professional and will help you understand what is wrong with your car and what various aspects of your car do if you're not a car expert. I wish more auto repair shops were as good as these--I recently moved out of the area but will be driving the distance to them for auto repair anytime I need it, as long as my car can get there!"
"Outstanding auto repair shop! Elmer and the guys at Zepeda are the best garage I've found in over thirty years of dealing with cars. They always go above and beyond to not only fix the issue your car came in for, but to also check for any other problems that may be related or may come up. I always get the feeling that they are fixing my car the way they would fix their own car, and they only recommend making the repairs that are absolutely necessary or just make too much sense not to fix. Their responsiveness, transparency and willingness to explain things, are noticeably different and better than any other garage I've ever been to. They just finished a multiple component, multiple day repair job on my car and actually brought out all of the old broken parts that they had fixed or replaced. That's the kind of honesty and quality service you can expect from these guys. Highly, highly, highly recommend!"
"I love this small business auto repair shop. Elmer the owner test drove my car to identify the squeak and found that my car didn't need repair, which gave me peace of mind. He is very familiar with Subaru's and I'll be bringing my car back to him on the next oil change or service."
"My car, Nikko, means the world to me. A spunky red 2001 Toyota Corolla, she’s lived in 4 states and driven over 130K miles with me, including a cross-country trip. Like a loyal pet, she is well loved by my family and friends, especially those who have had the opportunity to drive her. I first took Nikko to Weller Automotive in Nov. 2021, after the mechanics in the PA town where I used to live, cleaned her air flow sensor but the engine light came back on after driving back to MD. Jeff Weller did an engine scan and confirmed the same code my former mechanics had discovered, P017, which is a difficult code to pinpoint because there are many reasons why the fuel system could be running lean. Jeff explained this to me and proposed starting with one of the least costly possible fixes – replacing the air flow sensor – which I really appreciated. But even more important, Jeff shared my high opinion of Corollas – saying they’re the most fuel efficient cars on the market and can run forever if they’re well maintained (he had bought a used Corolla for his daughter once) so I knew he understood why I would want to keep Nikko going as long as possible. Thankfully, the engine light did not come back on, but I returned to Jeff in Jan. 2022, after having jumped a curb on Xmas Eve and damaging my rim, which Jeff replaced with a used part, saving me money yet again. He advised me to drive it around for a while before deciding whether or not it needed alignment, and it didn’t; more of Jeff’s honesty resulting in savings for me. Then, in March 2022, when trying to leave Knighton garage on a Saturday night, I put my key in the ignition and the engine turned over, but then stalled out. Very strange indeed especially since my battery wasn’t that old, but I was hoping a new battery was all I would need. After getting her towed Sunday a.m., I texted Jeff, asking if he could look at Nikko on Monday but just my luck, he was on vacation in Florida! Elmer Zepeda, who works out of the same garage as Weller but has his own business (Zepeda Auto Repair) said that he would he be happy to take a look at Nikko and would communicate with Jeff about her prior history, so I said okay, why not? Zepeda had great reviews too and waiting for Jeff to get back would cost me a lot in car rental charges. Late Monday afternoon, Elmer called saying he tried several possibilities but still didn’t know what the problem was (but he knew it was not the battery) but maybe, if he sleeps on it, the solution will come to him. And that’s exactly what happened! On Tuesday morning, Elmer called saying he replaced the throttle body (a valve between the air intake filter and intake manifold); if the throttle body gets clogged, not enough air can get into the combustion chamber so there’s no spark to set off the ignition. Online research will tell you that replacing the throttle body generally costs between $480 to $600 including parts and labor; a new part can be $500 but Elmer saved me money by installing a used part so my entire bill came to only $487.50. If you love your car as much I do, it is well worth taking it to Weller Automotive or Zepeda Auto Repair. They’re ideal mechanics in that they communicate with their customers honestly, they’re creative problem solvers, and they earnestly try to find the most cost-effective solutions that will maximize the life of your car. I am fortunate to have found them:)"
