"This is a nice big park with access to paved & dirt trails. The park offers excellent water views, and access to fishing. It’s winter, but it’s mild - I’m surprised the park wasn’t packed."
"Worth a visit. You are able to view most of the buildings and rooms within the fort. Great views of the river. The visitor center is also the Ranger station, who can help with tours, etc"
"This is such a wonderful place! I always go there to have a good time. It's very quiet and safe to walk. The place is always clean and tidy. I love this place!"
"Went here for a picnic with my significant other on a Friday morning and loved it. Perfect weather the weekend before summer ends. Not crowded at all, and a beautiful view of DC. For a nice waterside picnic, I recommend driving until you seek Lighthouse Dr, parking and walking to the shore. You’ll thank me later!"
"Fort Washington Park was a really cool park to visit and explore for a few hours. It was a really hot day but the breeze from high up on top of the fort was very nice. The views are really impressive of the Potomac River from this point as well. The parking was plentiful, and the welcome center had clean restrooms. Dogs allowed on leash but I would be careful because we didn’t realize they would be firing off a cannon. They did provide enough notice for anyone watching the re-enactment to leave if they had children, dogs or those sensitive to loud noises. The re-enactment occurred in the fort and was cool to see."
