Reviews of Inn at Huntingfield Creek
"The Inn at Huntingfield Creek is an amazing find on the eastern shore. A beautiful property that stretches out to the water where you will see blue herons and migrating birds. Our cottage was perfectly appointed with a see-through gas fireplaces and a big jacuzzi tub to soak in. Quiet and restful! Just what we needed after an extremely busy period of work. Also Joanne and Jim, the owners, are gracious hosts and a delight to talk with. Miranda was also lovely. We will be back!"
"I recently had the great pleasure of staying at the Inn at Huntingfield Creek. I was looking for a quiet getaway from graduate school where I could spend time with myself, and this inn did not disappoint! The property is absolutely gorgeous, and I thoroughly enjoyed walking to the dock multiple times a day to read or birdwatch, as there were many great blue herons and tundra swans visiting Huntingfield Creek while I was there in November. I felt like a real Elizabeth Bennett strolling the lawns and taking in the beautiful coastal scenery. Three very friendly dogs live at the Inn, and I loved having them as my walking buddies, especially Rosie. The inn also has kayaks and bicycles that you can take at any time, making it ideal for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. The inn itself is lovely and decorated nicely with antiques. There is a large communal room with many seats to relax, socialize, read, work, etc., and self-serve wine, beer, water, soda, and salted chocolate-chip cookies are available to guests, which was an unexpected treat. I opted to stay in the Fairlee room, which is perfect for solo travellers. Though small, it was absolutely adorable, and I felt like I was staying in a little Parisian apartment, especially with the antique clawfoot tub. Of note, the owners did offer to upgrade me to a larger room at no cost, which was very generous, but I loved the look of the Fairlee too much to turn it down. I never had any problems communicating with the owners/inn manager, and they were all very responsive and friendly. The Inn provides breakfast if at least 6 guests are staying, but otherwise gives guests $15 pp meal vouchers to buy breakfast at the local Java Rock Coffee House, which is also owned by the Innkeepers. The cafe has a solid selection of pastries and sandwiches as well as some gift/souvenir items, and I enjoyed the cappuccinos. The baristas were all very welcoming. The nearby town (Rock Hall) is very quaint... not a ton to do and most of the restaurants were closed on Monday/Tuesday, but as I was looking for solitude I wasn't unhappy with the location. I spent most of my time at the Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge, which was only a few minutes down the road from the Inn and very serene. There are a few different walking trails that are well-maintained. Saw a large variety of songbirds, swans, ducks, and several bald eagles. I would definitely recommend this place to inn guests. Overall I would be very happy to return to the Inn. I have been recommending it to everyone I know, especially those who need a quiet place to escape. Cheers!"
"We had a lovely stay! Our cottage and the common areas are beautiful. Jim and Joanne are such wonderful people We loved their dogs too! National wildlife refuge is just down the street. Very quiet little town."
"Having visited this wonderful Inn annually for over 10 years, we decided to visit a second time this year. It remains a beautiful, unique, restful, and hospitable place to get away. We look forward to the next time. Joanne and Jim are terrific hosts, as always."
"Nothing like being pleasantly surprised at this lovely Bed and Breakfast. We had an amazing time and it checked off all of our boxes. We were welcomed by Jim and Joanne, the owners. The staff was extremely accommodating. The Breakfast was delicious. We swam in their really nice pool as well as went biking and they provided kayaks to go in the Chesapeake. The property is very well maintained and is beautiful. We will be back!"
