"Always a lovely experience. Nice walking trails, interesting information on plaques, park benches, and many birdhouses that are good for bird watching. In the summer you can splash in the river that doesn’t get more than 2 ft deep. I appreciate that the park restores and maintains the older homes on the property too."
"Great place to take your kiddos. So many things you can do. Play in the creek, walk the trails, play ground, nature center. So much to do you'll have to come back! All employees are welcoming and helpful! So many fun animals to see, and so many things to explore!"
"This nature center and park are my favorite places to visit. I hike here at least 3 times a week and stop in to chat with Ranger Kirk and Laura! They're amazing people who take really great care of the park and nature center! I recommend visiting anyone who wants a safe, clean, well maintained place to enjoy nature. It's so peaceful and I love it. There are a couple of turkeys, plenty of chickens, and a couple of ducks in outdoor pens. Right now, the barn that was being used for field trips is being renovated. Ranger Kirk and his staff have put up a mid-size tent to accommodate the students in the meantime."
"Very clean park with lots of maintained trails. The Visitor Center is nice with lots of information on the history. Plenty of parking."
"I didn't know what to expect until I drive by and got this happy feeling from the beautiful natural setting of trees, bushes... After getting ice cream and lunch, I came here to hike with my dogs. I was happy to find the lime kiln since I didn't know what it was when I saw the pics on Google. It was an educational experience. I read most of the historical signs. The log cabin is located to the right of the lime kiln. One of my pups found the creek where she cooled her little paws. We ended up walking the birders path where I saw and heard lots of birds and several bunnies. It's my favorite part of the trail so far but I didn't explore the other trails for comparison since it's hot out and my girls were already tired from walking around Hampton. If I'm in the area, I would definitely come back and hike the other trails and we explore the rest of the park."
