Reviews of Janet Johnston Housenick and William D. Housenick Memorial Park
"It could have been a great museum and charge you a lot of money for entry, instead, it is free at all times to anybody. The place is well maintained and well guided with information. You get to see a very prominent family going into oblivion over time. The landscape, the trees, the design of the house, pavilion, tennis courts, etc, showed the original owners days of grandeur. All the aspirations gradually calmed down. This place makes me feel respectful of the owners and sad at this same time. It is a great walking area and could be fun for the youngsters. If you want to feel melancholy, you could too. The best seasons to visit are fall and winter in my opinion."
"Excellent hiking, clean, not crowed, lots of old, hertiage structures & a beautiful creek & old house you can tour, highly recommend."
"Nice walking trail (mostly paved). Pretty sights to see."
"This is where I go to regain my sanity and also to walk my little Maltese, Patrick. I love walking the grounds around the estate. I never know what wildflowers, or wildlife, I might see."
"I was a first time visitor on Thursday September 24, 2020. I discovered this peaceful park on Google Maps and decided to give it a try. It was so peaceful walking around taking pictures. I did see a deer but she ran away before i could take a picture. The old bridge is ready to fall down and the mansion isn't much better. Plenty of free parking is available and a porta-potty is located in the lot near the trailhead. Check out the children's garden near the trailhead. The trails are marked and paved. I will visit again when I'm in the area."
