"This campground was awesome! We stayed here two nights in April on our way home from Virginia Beach. Staff was incredibly courteous even giving us an escort to our site. Campground isn't far away from the sights and are camp site was perfect for our larger setup."
"The reason for 1 star is I called in regards to bringing a golf cart so I could get around because of my disability and was told No. Once we arrived we had to go to the office to check in so my daughter drove me down to the office, mind you I stood on her running board and held on to her support handle because I could not climb in her truck. We drive an RV and I was to sore to walk down there. It was then that they told me in the office that I could of brought my cart if I had a handicapped placard, this is after I called in and was told No. They also drove me back to our site on their cart which I did appreciate because their hill going up as well as the gravel makes it very difficult for walking when your have disabilities. Secondly, I have never seen a campground be so rude to our family, mind you we have at least 12 families in our group and many are military. On Thursday night around 6 people in our group were sitting by the fire at 10 o’clock barely talking just enjoying the fire when the staff drove up and said they need to keep it down. They were harassed numerous times in regards to this and they weren’t talking. There were four of us standing by the road two of which were seniors watching the fire and we were talking in a whisper and were told they were loud. We told them their not even talking and that we were standing there the whole time. We finally got tired of the harassment and went back to our campers. Let me not forget how they would come by in the dark driving their golf cart with no lights on as to catch us doing something (very dangerous)Then on top of this we were advised that we could not set up our clown display for the Halloween festivities which the campers love and look forward to. All the other campers were allowed, that’s discrimination. A lot of our campers are vets and look forward to camping and to treat them in such a manner is despicable. If they don’t want campers they need to sell to someone who does. Plus, you need to make it more accessible to the handicapped. We look to go camping to be with family and meet new friends not to be harassed. We treat all campgrounds with respect and look for the same treatment."
"This was a very nice KOA. Spots aren't large but they're clean with mature trees in between. Very quiet and no light pollution. Enjoyed being out of town for these reasons. Quick drive and you're in gettysburg. Laundry was reasonable. Mini golf was $4/person and 18 holes. Staff were friendly."
"I knew as soon as we drove into this Campground that I picked a winner. It is very woodsy, cool, and shady. The office is so cute with a deck on the side that has picnic tables with umbrellas. The girls that checked me in were so friendly and sweet. The store has so much to choose from with plenty of essentials that you may need. The sites are pretty close together, but you still have a sense of privacy because of the way things are laid out. If you have kids bring them here because this place looks like so much fun. They have this fantastic little dog park too with a fire hydrant placed in the middle. There are poopy bags provided also. I can’t say enough about this KOA. I have not stayed in one for years, and I kind of forgot how nice they were. I’m glad I joined, and I am currently looking for locations near future destinations that I have planned. I highly recommend this campground. Especially if you came here to visit the Gettysburg, battle grounds, and such. It’s a short drive to everything Gettysburg."
"All around the best place to stay if you want to be amongst nature, if you have dogs, and/or don't want to stay in a hotel. We stay in the cabins...you're in the woods, among the trees, campfire every night, but sleep in a cozy cabin with A/C (if needed)...or leave the windows open to hear the chirping crickets. Our dogs are comfortable while we go to the Battlefield. Everyone is so friendly, you can walk around the campground, people say hello, stop and chat, or wave as you drive by. It's safe. There's a pool, laundry, breakfast cafe....really its like what more could you want?? We love it and make it a tradition to come once a year!"
