Clarion Inn Harpers Ferry-Charles Town

"Rates are too high for such an old property. Hallway carpets were dingy, dark, and on the stairwell remained unvacuumed. Mattress and linens were clean and comfortable. Towels okay. Wasn’t going to sit on couch or chair in room. Breakfast was underwhelming. Coffee wasn’t very good. I opened the bread box and a gnat flew out. Not much to choose from. Ate breakfast in town. Staff was friendly."

"Everyone from the front staff, breakfast staff, house keeping were very pleasant and always smiling. I love the bed. It was very comfortable and the comforter was like the micro fiber patch style. Great pillows to. Great view as it sits on top over looking parts of Harper's ferry."

"This hotel was a terrible disappointment. Where to begin??? Upon checking in, we were met with a clerk who seemed couldn't be bothered with us. In the middle of checking us in, she answered the phone where she took quite a bit of time with the person on the phone who seemed to be telling her he couldn't check in that night but still wanted to keep his reservation. She then proceeded to check him in while we were standing there waiting to go to our room. Needless to say, I wish we could have just slept in the lobby seeing as how the rooms were truly disgusting. The smell of smoke mixed with musty mold was enough to turn our stomachs. You definitely don't want to walk on the floor without slippers for fear you might step on something ungodly. The showers were so gross, I literally cried during the short time I was in it. Fair warning, if you're staying there, please bring air freshener as the smell was the worst thing I've experienced in quite some time. Fairer warning, DON'T BOOK THIS HOTEL!"

"Rooms are adequate, but don't expect too much! The entry to the hallway wreaked of marijuana & the lift was scary as it creaked loudly. Nice welcoming and efficient desk staff. Unfortunately, a few of the previous occupants pubes were visible on the bathroom floor...the floor grout could use a good bleach scrub & the toilet roll was like 200 grit sandpaper! The beds were nice, if a bit too squishy but comfortable. The shower was nice with lusiously rejuvenating hot water and towels that smelled of bleach. Included breakfast was not at all inviting, I didn't dare drink the coffee as it was translucent & looked like tea."

"Amazing all in 1 place. Restaurant and bar in house. Food was good. Staff both in the restaurant and hotel was friendly and helpful. Rooms were well cleaned and comfy beds. Laundry room available. Pool was clean and somewhat heated. Have nothing to complain about!"
