"They are fast courteous reasonable and just make you comfortable with what needs done"
"Check Engine Light was showing a small evap leak. I put my hands on every line I could, checking for cracks and holes. Tried a new OEM gas cap first with no luck Needed a smoke test and a friend suggested Trumpe. Took it there, explained why I wanted a smoke test. They charged me for a smoke test but it’s questionable they even did it. Anyway, they said my vapor/charcoal canister needed to be replaced. Most online places suggest this as a last resort but I figured they were the experts.. Okay, let’s replace it. I was quoted $ 439.00 and was charged $ 539.00 after they replaced it. Not even a day later the same code pops up. I go back, Steve looks at it briefly and says it is the Vapor Canister Purge Solenoid. He says we have to order the part, will be in welt next week, we will call you to replace it. It will cost $117.00 and only a few dollars to replace it. So I already paid almost $ 600.00, replaced parts that did not need to be replaced, and had to pay more. I asked about that and he said “I am not trying to beat you up to replace the Solenoid. Steve said this code is either the canister or Solenoid. Steve also said the charcoal canister was cracked so it needed to be replaced anyway. Well that is a complete lie because I asked for the old part back, he was unaware. Soo I have it, examined it and there is no crack. I pressurized it and found no leak. I even tried the soap test, no leaks, no crack. Meanwhile I crawled under the truck to see if a new canister was in fact installed. It was but it was only attached on one side. The other side closest to the gas tank was unattached so the entire box was loose and bouncing up and down. I have a video for proof and reference. Regardless, two weeks later, they never called. That says a lot right there. So I went to Toyota in Pleasant Hills to order the Solenoid, it only cost $ 95.00 and the service guy pulled it up on Amazon which had the same part listed for $ 76.50. Trumpe was not even helping me with the price but charging me more after mis-diagnosing the issue. Who does that to someone after making a mistake. I replaced it myself, literally took 3 minutes as it was under the hood next to the fuse box. Well a day later the check engine light came on again. Wow, they mis-diagnosed it twice. So I took it somewhere else for a smoke test and diagnosis. Turns out the vacuum switching valve is not closing completely on the brand new charcoal canister valve. Any normal person would be furious and expect the garage to fix it under warranty. I am afraid to go back. Who knows what would happen. I have no doubt they will say a small evap leak is difficult to diagnose. I agree but why start with the most expensive part and why overcharge for other parts after being wrong? A reputable palace would say they made a mistake. Mistakes happen, I get it and can work with that but to be dishonest and deceitful? I can’t go back there. Who would trust them after all this. Update 9-12-23...had it smoke tested again while I was there at another garage.....2 lines were smoking, dry rotted and cracked. It took less than 5 minutes so it is clear now Trumpe lied and never smoked it and took my money. Update 9-17-23... All Trumpe had to do was perform an actual smoke test as I asked and not go only off of the Engine Code as I fully explained to them. I retained the cracked EVAP lines and the new ones are blue so there is proof."
"Terrible customer service, lady on the phone talks to you like your mentally slow don’t recommend this shop to anyone unless you want disrespected"
"I have been dealing with them for years at the old location and now the new one. We also use them for inspections and repairs to our fleet. Good honest people, fair price and great work every time. Highly recommended !"
"Had my stepdad take his car in a couple months ago. They managed to get a scratch down the side of the car while attempting an alignment. Denied that it happened under their watch. Checked the alignment they supposedly did. Car's steering wheel was no longer straight and since it has adaptive steering would cause erratic jerkiness while trying to keep driving straight and was dangerously floaty at highway speed. Took it back in, they insisted nothing was wrong with it. Checked the alignment myself, both front wheels were found with the toe very off. Left side toe -3.25 and right side +1.04."
