"Updated 2024: I don't know what changed, but pizza is better, management, service, etc.. All around just great. Also, their vegan cheese is scarily close to the real thing now. 2023 Review: 3 Stars Not for vegans or anyone with a dairy allergy. So pizza's good, just sucks that they put butter on everything. I've worked in 3 shops and never did we put butter on the crust or sticks. Also blatantly put (VEGAN, DAIRY ALLERGY, NO CHEESE) and they still put cheese on my sticks. It is nice they go out of their way to redeliver a fresh batch but I still got sick from I imagine butter somewhere on this pie."
"Absolutely delicious! We ordered the zucchini planks, I had a side salad and then we started a medium Pepperoni Palooza. The salad was on the small side, especially for the cost, but it was delicious. The zucchini was perfect, served hot and not dripping with oil. The pizza was outstanding. Take a pepperoni pizza, add more pepperoni and then more pepperoni! It was hot, fresh out of the oven and I can't wait to go back!"
"Caliente Pizza & Draft House receives mixed reviews, with some praising its delicious pizza and draft selection while others criticize the inconsistent crust and portion sizes. Here's a closer look at the key points: Positives: Flavorful pizza: Many reviewers appreciate the fresh ingredients and flavorful pizzas, especially the signature Caliente and pan crust options. Good draft selection: With a wide variety of beers on tap, Caliente offers a satisfying experience for beer lovers. Friendly service: Several patrons highlight the friendly and attentive service they received from waitstaff. Vibrant atmosphere: The lively and casual atmosphere makes it a good choice for gatherings with friends and family. Negatives: Inconsistent crust: Some reviews mention inconsistencies in the crust thickness, with some parts being too thick and others too thin. Limited toppings on pan crust: The pan crust option is said to have less topping coverage compared to the regular pizza. Small portion sizes: Some reviewers feel the portion sizes are smaller than expected, particularly for the price point. Long wait times: Occasionally, longer wait times for food and service are reported."
"Their large pizza is only 10 cut. One topping was $20.95. The pizza was very good!..but extremely expensive..especially for a 10-cut with just average size slices. Almpst twice the cost of a local pizza joint"
"I thought the food was quite good but also expensive for a pizza joint. There are other places nearby that offer a similar quantity and quality of food that are less expensive. In either case, I tried the cinnamon donut balls with the raspberry sauce and the spinach feta rolls. The spinach feta rolls were more like spinach rolls with tiny bits of feta here and there. Don't get me wrong, spinach is great, and they seemed to be using decently high quality spinach...but I was hoping for more feta flavor. The size was adequate but not huge as some others described. They are brushed with a nice cheesy dusting. The marinara sauce was tasty and had real tomato chunks. The cinnamon donut balls were very good. They are coated in more than ample amounts of sweet cinnamon, and I really enjoyed them. The portion is great for the rice. I also really enjoyed the fruity raspberry side, although it was somewhat syrupy. Cooked well and delicious as a dessert. All in all, I enjoyed my meal, but I wouldn't say it's the best pizza place in Pittsburgh or anything of that sort. Their pizza and calzones are far more expensive than in other places. Quality is pretty high, though, and I would definitely recommend the cinnamon donut balls for a treat."
