About the Upper Frick Park
Upper Frick Park is a beautiful and expansive park located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. As Pittsburgh's largest historic regional park, it offers a peaceful escape from the city with its extensive trails, steep valleys, and wooded slopes. Originally bequeathed by Henry Clay Frick in 1919, the park has grown over the years to encompass 644 acres, stretching from Point Breeze to the Monongahela River.
Visitors to Upper Frick Park can enjoy birdwatching at Clayton Hill, play at the famous Blue Slide Playground, and learn about nature at the Frick Environmental Center. The park also features red clay tennis courts, baseball fields, and a public lawn bowling green. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy has worked tirelessly to restore and enhance the park, including the opening of the state-of-the-art Frick Environmental Center in 2016.
As a living building and education hub, the Frick Environmental Center offers a unique experience for all visitors. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, in partnership with the city of Pittsburgh, is dedicated to preserving and improving the park for future generations. Whether you're looking to explore nature, play sports, or simply relax in a beautiful setting, Upper Frick Park has something for everyone.

Reviews of Upper Frick Park
"This part of Frick has a children's playground & a off leash dog area.. however the big highlight is a view of Kennywood!"
"Great place to play in a nice area of the city. Easy for kids to find other kids to play during the after school time frame on a nice day!"
"This is a great park in a Squirrel Hill. Lots of playgrounds, for all age groups. They're built right into the hillsides which makes it more fun. Bridges, tunnels and pathways. Lots of shade trees, benches and tables. Up the hill are basketball courts, a baseball field and bathrooms. The Riverview Trail leaves this person of the park to go into the interior. Lots of fields and areas to play and have picnics. A great place to hangout or exercise."
"Love being able to walk, bike and play at the playground with my daughter. But I do NOT like how many off leash dogs there are despite it being THE LAW to have dogs leashed at all times and there are signs everywhere saying so. A crack down by police would be greatly appreciated, or my daughter may be jumped on by another off leash dog again and possibly severely injured next time!!"
"I read about it in reviews and took my kids to see the blue slide. Very creative the way it is build in the hill, plus there is plenty of other equipment to play on. Many convenient benches to sit in or out of the shade. Also on a hot day there was a nice breeze. The surrounding park looks very nice and inviting for a stroll or a run."
