"Wonderful park, no bathrooms but plenty to do. Completely surrounded by trees so there is plenty of shade. Equipped with a merry-go-round, swings, bench swings (2) a basketball court and a pavilion as well as the playground area. The playground has a rock wall, 2 metal slides, lots of little wall puzzles. There is a small steep hill so pay attention to the little ones. Minimal road noise."

"Here’s an “updated” review. In response to it being “restricted” it is not. They might be confusing (Avon park) with the Ben Avon heights park at top of hill. Yes up there no parking at all. Found that out years ago when I tried to go with my son. As for Avon park there are two ways in and there is a parking lot near the playground and a spot for a few cars near tennis courts. :)"

"Restricted. A nice little neighborhood park that is restricted for use to residents of the Ben Avon neighborhood only. There is no parking anywhere nearby further reinforcing the neighborhood only policy. It’s kind of a shame really because I rarely see it being used and adjoining neighborhoods should be able to use it as well as anyone who can walk or bike there. I think my favorite thing was the stern language on the sign warning that this park is for residents only."

"Nice park, fun for smaller kids (ages 5+) nestled in the woods. Nice tennis courts and ample, flat grassy area for running around, kicking a ball or playing chase. There's a nice covered picnic area with grills and picnic tables. There is a neat trail through woods but it's a gravel trail which is not suitable for walking with toddlers or pushing a stroller. The playground area is in dire need of new mulch - under padding is coming through. Because there are larger trees in they area, many roots are exposed in the playground area, posing a serious tripping hazard for small children. I wouldn't go here with a child under the age of 4."
