Dr. John R. Jacobs, M.D.

"I've been a patient of Dr. Jacobs since 2016. In my opinion, Dr. Jacobs is the best doctor and has helped me overcome so much in my life. Dr. Jacobs is non-judgmental, open-minded, willing to listen, give advice, and has a heart of gold. I believe his true passion in life is saving people that are addicted to drugs and alcohol. Obviously, as addicts we have to ultimately make the choice to save ourselves, but it is a tremendous relief to have someone that you can turn to that truly has your best interests in mind, guiding you towards the right path in life. Dr. Jacobs is unique and unlike any doctor or psychiatrist I have seen in the past. He is someone I feel comfortable being completely open and honest with, without any fear of repercussions. He is a very accepting and trustworthy person. Dr. Jacobs gives you the option to see him privately for one-on-one appointments, or you can attend weekly or bi-weekly group therapy sessions. Personally, I enjoy attending group therapy. In the beginning, I did not think I would like going to group meetings, because I'm an extremely private person and I find it difficult to trust people. Dr. Jacobs group forum is unique and the group conversations can be about any topic that the group chooses. Other AA or NA meetings I have attended in the past talk about drugs and alcohol the entire time. This may work for some people, but it's not for me. In contrast, attending Dr. Jacobs group meetings the group members have the freedom to talk about whatever we decide to talk about. No topic is off limits and if you do not feel like talking you are not required to. Dr. Jacobs group meetings have really helped me, knowing that there are other people in the world, from all walks of life, going through similar situations. Or they have already gone through something that you are currently having trouble with, and you can get advice from different people with different perspectives. Its reassuring knowing that you are not alone. Even for someone like me who is typically a loner. It has given me a tremendous amount of support during the most difficult times in my life. I highly recommend Dr. Jacobs to anyone suffering with drug and alcohol addiction. Before I became his patient I was completely lost. He has truly helped save my life and restore my soul.
