"i called and ask the lady on the phone. when was my last appointment cause my insurance only pays for new glasses every 2 years. was told oct 11 was after my 2 year. after my appointment went picked out new glasses, get home 2 hrs later telling me that my 2 years was not up till November 16th. still can not get no one on phone today. to see if they order them or not. last week they kept call leaving a message saying it is time for to schedule an appointment for my 2 year eye exam. lol"
"I established care as a new patient and then shortly before my first visit, I had an emergency regarding my eye. I was in a lot of pain, so I called Eye Care for the Adirondacks to see if they could help me. I called right when they opened and was actively crying in pain while being triaged over the phone. I was told someone would be in touch with me soon if they “were able to get me in”. I called hours later because I still hadn’t heard anything and the person on the phone claimed to have no recollection of speaking to me even though it was the same person. They told me I just had to wait until a scheduling manager called me back. I heard nothing from them. I ended up getting an appointment within the hour at a local primary care, then being referred to the ophthalmologist at a local hospital. It ended up being a scratched cornea with the beginnings of an infection. I didn’t hear back from Eye Care for the Adirondacks so assumed I had been forgotten entirely. This morning — 5 days later — I got a call from Eye Care for the Adirondacks to “follow up on the triage” and make an appointment. 5 days after my emergency. It was really upsetting and honestly would have likely felt better if they just hadn’t even called me back at all. I will be cancelling my first patient visit here. This was a super disappointing experience."
"This was the absolute worst experience that I ever had for an eye appointment The wait was over two hours and the woman who tested my eyes was rude and rushed through the exam. They didn't test my eyes with different lens to see which was better but the other parts are the exam was done with different people doing different tests. It was like an assembly line. Finally when I saw the doctor she spoke a mile a minute and did not address my concerns, I tried to ask her but she said if I had any concerns I could get a different optical exam, I thought I was already getting an optical exam. I already had spent three hours there and at this point didn't trust them, so I just opted to leave. A total waist of money. Now I have to make another appointment to another eye doctor which my insurance won't pay for because they already covered this one. I just wish I had read the reviews for this place, then I would have known what many people in this area know all too well, that Adirondack Eye Care is substandard, unprofessional and a waist of your hard earned money. The place should be shut down!"
"This is a terrible place for eye care. From the beginning it feels as if you are cattle being hearded along. Once in your appointment, there is lack of attention to you as they very rapidly go through the exam and concerns. My specific concerns for my vision issues seemed irrelevant to them, and dismissed as nothing. Eye Care for the Adirondacks may as well install a drive-through window for the amount of time and attention received. The prescription I received is so far off and useless. I do feel as if my time (mostly waiting with so little time in the actual exam) and money spent were wasted. There is absolutely NO WAY I will put myself through that again."
"This place is worse now than it was the last time I came here! Makes me literally sick to see how they treat patients like it's a puppy mill for their eyes. All they did was get more 2q8t8ng rooms for upstairs and pagers?! If you run like this and need pagers that's disgusting. We can't be more than 15 minutes late or it's a no call no show. But they can change your appointment without telling you. When a patient updates a phone number change it in your system!!! This place literally makes me sick to my stomach. This isnt as bad as my last experience buy still pretty disgusting. Says the doctor is on time, so on time means more than a half hour past my childs appointment time. Awesome! Plus, it sounds like I'm at the dentist with all the drilling going on!"
