"Littleton has some great views that never get old"

"Needing a December break and a small road trip, led us thru dramatic Franconia Notch, it’s not the Alps but it’s the best in the northeast, to Littleton for a lunch and a linger along Main Street. Free public parking is a short walk up a side street. The on-street parking meters were covered up for the Christmas season. Right away, I was impressed by the size of the classical design of the U. S. Post Office, with the realisation of how important this town was in northern NH. 19th c. buildings, some w/ renovated facades now house restaurants and commercial spaces. We enjoyed lunch at the Littleton Diner and browsing through a 2-floor antiques co-op , purchasing 3 items. The street floor is mainly fluff while the basement houses the meat. There is enough to do in the town to keep you busy. I saw only an Irving gas station by the exit from Rt. 93 where you’re price gouged, locals may know of other locales. We’ve been to Littleton before and will return come summer."
