Reviews of Cynthea's Spa
"Jamie is the *best* masseuse I have ever had the privilege to work with. Her technique is excellent and I always finish wonderful relaxed and feeling better. The spa location is so convenient and nestled amongst all the fun of Church Street. I am a regular customer, very happy with the spa and services, and recommend them (especially Jamie!)."
"I absolutely love going to Cynthia’s spa I get the best service. My service is provided by Jamie who not only became a friend of mine through business but takes amazing care of her customers. She has the best recommendations, always fits me in when needed and I get good results from her work. I would check out this spa with decent prices also very knowledgeable and professional estheticians."
"I've never had a full leg wax or Brazilian wax before it was my first time and not the best experience. The lady who waxed me just started and didn't tell me what to expect. I feel like it's normal for someone who's never gotten some thing done before to have the process explained. I felt like she was rushing. Towards the end I checked everything and there was still quite a bit of hair on my legs. I had her go back to remove it and when I got home there was still hair in other places I didn't see and left over wax. I wasn't really given any aftercare instructions (only to not bathe in hot water). Unfortunately, I don't think I will be returning back."
"I will say... after the fact Cynthea was very nice (minus the excuses) and gave me a refund... here goes my very 1st wax experience... done here by Shahla and went into it, knowing the basics. I did let her know this as well. She was very kind and happy but quiet and reserved. At one point during the wax, she stopped.. grabbed paper towels and I see blood. Nothing hurt too bad, and just assumed it's part of the process. (Thank god I've got a high pain tolerance) She carried on.. I thought all was well and was happy with everything when I took a quick peek. When I went to tip her, she looked very confused, which made me confused but just carried on... when I got home and REALLY looked.... one of my 2 moles was 70% ripped off. Not one word was said me to me that it could even happen... or that it even DID happen. Now, it was clear to me why she looked so confused when I tipped her. After I reached out to let them know this happened... Cynthea was very apologetic and gave me a refund immediately. Which was so kind and very appreciated. It was after that what rubbed me wrong. She threw out any and every excuse as to why it happened and/or why she didn't say anything. Hindsight is always 20/20 it was beyond obvious she knew what she did and didn't own it.. at all. What really made it clear she knew she messed up was when i looked at the 2nd mole there was a nice patch of hair all around it. So she knew what she did. My whole point in relaying to the owner what happened was so it'll never happen to someone else again. An ounce of accountability and a hint of professionalism go a long way. I literally have to go to Dr. appointments and everything to make sure it grows back fine. I'm really not one to leave a bad review, but this was just beyond unprofessional of Shahla. Why didn't she simply tell me!?! Just keep that in mind if you have Shahla wax you, especially if you have any moles. Also... the table she had me on was kinda gross and she knew it. The second I saw it, before I could even say anything, she said, "Don't worry, I'll put paper down. It's fine"... there were little bits of wax and tiny hairs on the table! I wish I had walked out at that point! I really do! Go anywhere else... it's worth paying a few extra bucks! Truly! I'd post the pictures of the before/after but not comfortable putting my "cat" on the internet like that. I wish none of this was true..."
