"Having my first experience with Homeostatic Restoration Therapy was wonderful! Nicky took the time to make me feel welcome and comfortable and really listened not just to my words, but my body as well. It was an excellent experience, and I look forward to our next sessions together!"
"Nicky is great, she helped me work on my breathing to help control my blood pressure. Between the breathing and dietary changes, it is close to being in the normal range. Nicky is a great listener, and formulates her approach to your care based on understanding who you are and your goals."
"I had a major shoulder surgery several years back. I didn't do my part and take my physical therapy like I should have. I have been going to Nicky for just over a month now and I have gained a lot of range of motion that I didn't have before and I am enjoying a lot less pain. I would highly recommend her to anyone suffering and needing some therapy. She is also a joy to be around and takes a lot of time to explain they why and how it will help. Greatly appreciate her!"
"I have worked in the mental health space for several years, holding two master’s degrees in counseling and mental health and clinical psychology, and I am currently working towards my PhD. My interests have always been at the intersection of trauma and neurobiological functioning, understanding how traumas we experience during childhood impact our psychological and physical well-being. Throughout my education, I learned a bit about the mind-body connection and used this knowledge to engage in activities that I knew would benefit my overall well-being (e.g., meditation, yoga, strength training, HIIT). During quarantine, I decided to take up running (more specifically, marathon training) given its benefits for both mental health and cardiovascular health – plus it was an easy way to enjoy the outdoors! Unfortunately, I went too fast and too hard, quickly injuring myself and needing to stop training altogether. I was so grateful to work with Nicky and be exposed to her method of Homeostatic Restoration Therapy. In all of my years of education, I had never heard of this approach to healing despite it being so connected to my passions/interests. Nicky met me at my level of understanding, explained how the areas of my body (back and leg) experiencing pain were connected, and gave me concrete exercises to do each day so that I could get back to running. I was at first concerned about how this would go over video call, but she seamlessly provided education and training in the techniques needed to help my body heal. Nicky is empathic, intelligent, and client-centered. Not only did I benefit from the skills she taught me, I also love engaging with her as a human and wish we could have connected to do this work in person. I am now no longer feeling any pain and continue to use the exercises I learned from her to keep my body and mind functioning in a healthy way. Thank you, Nicky, you have made such a difference in my life!"
"I have struggled with neck and lower back problems for 12 years. It started with a roll over in bed one day where my neck went "clunk-clunk" and I have been on the back therapy roller coaster since... (therapy, MRis, injections, therapy, fusion surgery, ablations, new lower back injury, partial discectomy surgery, therapy, injections, ablations, etc...) and none of these things had long term healing potential, a couple have caused additional injury or chronic pain problems... I was fortunate my wife found the group over at Live Your Life Chiropractic in Erie, CO and they listened to what I was going through and set me up with an acupuncture session as well as an appointment with Nicky Bienstock, of Homeostatic Restoration Therapy. To keep this short, Nicky has been providing therapy and instructing me for an ongoing basis since August of 2019 and the difference from the past 11.5 years, and a real obligation to write this review and promote Nicky and her methods, is that what she is teaching is working. I can feel the problem areas becoming stronger. With Nicky's help, I have found ways to focus on structures in my body that have become dormant due to the struggles of the past 12 years. Nicky is very intuitive, she knows the body, it is clear that she is educated about conditions that "us people" can get our bodies into and she has learned ways to help correct those problems instead of band-aid them. It is clear from how she addresses my problems that she has a large toolbox of therapies/ methods/ teachings to work from. I am a very technical, scientific person and that is what I get in return from Nicky. As a professional, I am in a unique position to have more knowledge about neck and back injuries than most of the population, as I am a Principal Biomechanical Development Engineer who currently works on projects related to the spine, yet I still feel lost sometimes on how to manage my injury. I am glad to have Nicky on the team."
