About Us
Vermont-NEA, located at 10 Wheelock Street in Montpelier, Vermont, is a state affiliate of the National Education Association (NEA). Our mission is to Keep the Promise of Quality Public Education, as we believe that every student deserves access to a high-quality education.
Unfortunately, many states, including Vermont, fail to adequately fund public schools, leading to disparities in resources and opportunities for students. Additionally, LGBTQ youth face higher rates of mental health challenges in communities that are not accepting.
We also recognize the limitations of standardized tests, which often do not accurately measure student learning and growth, and can perpetuate inequities in education.
As part of the NEA, Vermont-NEA is part of a larger network of educators and advocates working to improve public education nationwide. Join us in our efforts to ensure that every student has access to a quality education and the support they need to succeed.
