Reviews of Grand Isle Tree Farm
"The staff at Grand Isle Nursery is friendly and helpful. I stopped by the sale today, and picked up some green giant hedges at a great price. I highly recommend stopping by if you are looking for some trees or hedges. Thank you!"
"I purchased 20 arborvitae from Robin in Oct 2020. After having a professional Gardner install them at my home near Burlington only 2 have survived. When I called to talk with the nursery the owner was incredibly rude and informed me that she never warranty’s her plants and is obligated to do nothing to rectify the situation. BUYER BEWARE!!! Not worth the effort and expense. I was trying to support a local grower... but even Home Depot guarantees their plants will live a single season!!"
"I bought 10 trees from them last year. 3 got guilded by Vols this winter. Guess where I am going to buy my replacement trees from. This company. They're friendly, helpful, and they have got great prices. To respond to people complaining about plants dying. Do your research before you buy on how to care for the plants. Also you take a risk when you plant. Things may die or not survive the shock. It happens. Doing something silly like taking the plant out of its container and exposing the roots to the air for more than a few minutes WILL MOST LIKELY KILL THEM. Monty Don and Farmer's Almanac are two great sources. Use them."
"Do NOT purchase from this Nursery (Low Cost Tree Farm). In late August I purchased 3 Green Giant Arborvitae. I had specifically requested this variety as it is known to be deer resistant. The 4' arborvitae available were scraggly as if they had just been field dug and had no nursery labels but I was assured they were Green Giants and, having worked as a professional landscaper, knew that with the proper care, they would grow into themselves. Several days later I purchased 2 more Green Giants from a different nursery. These trees were tagged and much fuller in foliage. All 5 trees were properly planted in proximity of each other as a hedgerow. Last month I noticed that the 3 trees I'd purchased from Grand Isle Nursery were literally stripped and chewed down to a single stem with evidence of deer present while the 2 fuller trees from the other nursery were virtually left untouched. I immediately contacted Grand Isle nursery to inform them that the trees they sold me were not Green Giants and sent them photos per their request. They responded that they do not warranty or refund any of their plants. My response was that they did not sell me the variety that I'd been led to believe I was purchasing (I even sent them the receipt indicating the variety) and under those circumstances their warranty did not apply and I expected a full refund. I've left several messages since then to resolve this matter and now they do not respond at all. I'll be filing a complaint with the state department for fraudulent business practices."
"I recently ordered 16 six foot green giant arborvitae‘s from this company in the spring and they arrived timely and healthy and six months later have been thriving and I couldn’t be happier During this time. Whenever I had any questions Shane immediately got back to me by text message or by phone and was very helpful in providing information regarding watering and fertilizing and the overall care of the trees I will be ordering more in the spring of next year to provide a privacy fence for another portion of our property."
