The Schroon Lake Place

"Great location but poorly maintained both inside and out! There was tons of glass on the beach and in the water that my son cut his foot on. I understand it can wash up on the beach but I was there almost a week and did not see effort to clean it up, except by the guests. They did make an effort to rent a clean place and had kyacks and canoes to use, which was nice in addition to a great location......but a duck taped fridge door, green felt decking that traps all of the rain water and dishes that were all mismatched and look like they were from many garage sales, were very disappointing. The view is spectacular as is the location since it is right in town, but they need a total renovation."

"What a GREAT place! Don't hesitate, book now. We've been to many hotels/motels/lodges, and while this may not be the most modern or fancy one, once you're there, you don't want to leave. Location cannot be beaten: right on the lake. No crossing roads, just descend from your apartment and enjoy. In addition, good coffeeshops/restaurants/shops/grocery store are within 2-3mins walking distance. Great amenities: kayaks/canoe can be used free of charge. Plenty of beach stuff for kids. Firepit for the evening. Apartments have everything you need. Cozy apartments: AC to keep it cool, gas-fired BBQ on the deck, TV, well-stocked kitchen. Beds are good, showers are clean. Again, not the most modern, but everything is clean and functional! Outstanding hospitality: owners are super nice, lots of good advice on the area, always there for you. We had a fantastic stay (too short!) and will be back!"

"I did not personally rent. My son and his family did to the tune of $700.00. The unit was old and tired, though clean. The private beach was the only plus. They rented with the understanding that there was no air conditioning. Their 3 night stay turned into 2 because the unit became intolerable due to the heat. Upon check out the only thing owners said to them was sorry. My husband and i are summer residents of Schroon Lake. We happened to drive by the day after my family checked out and low and behold there was not one but two air conditioners in the unit's windows. Not likely that this place will have a return visit!"

"We stayed in the next house over, but I'd like to leave a review for this place. Houses at this part of the lake are very close to each other with very little beach space. Owners of The Schroon Lake Place where extremely rude and nasty when our kids ran over to their part of the beach and, oh no!, went to fish of their dock. These people are not fit to run a business, much less to be in hospitality services. I would not recommend any one staying there. In fact this part of the lake is a complete zoo. Owners of these vacation properties are taking advantage of you by providing poor quality housing and services, with the lake being the only attraction here. When you step inside these houses, you feel like you are visiting a third-world country where living conditions are poor and the locals are angry."

"Rustic and great spot for a family vacation - perfect for all ages. This upcoming summer will be our 3rd staying at Schroon Lake Place. Maybe not the most modern but we like it that way. Bonus, they have a dock for a boat, if you choose to rent one while visiting the Adirondacks."
