"Our son Luke has attended WNFC esports Dojo now since March 2023 when it opened. He has enjoyed being there after school a couple of times a week and over this summer at four of the camps that were run. This program gives Luke a great way to play games in a positive, educational environment with like minded kids and others with the same interests. Grant is developing a great program for kids from 4th grade up to enjoy the world of gaming and esports, develop their techniques, be a great team player and have a lot of fun while doing it. Thank you ~ I know Luke will be back soon!"
"In the past our son has gone to various local camps but he often doesn’t enjoy himself. This summer he went to two of the camps at esports Dojo and had a fantastic time! It was awesome seeing him meet other kids and have fun learning and playing. Thanks Grant for offering such a cool program!"
"My son Ryder was one of WNFC's first students and it has been amazing. He never really had much interest or knowledge in fighting games but Grant has taught him so many useful techniques! He attended his first competition with some of the states finest and held his own. Grant's passion and eagerness to have his dojo students learn life lessons and create career paths has done wonders for my son. Ryder attended a couple sessions this summer one being "Game Theory and Design." He is even more excited to continue to learn more about all aspects of designing video games. I would highly recommend this program to anyone with an interest in socializing with other like minded video gamers! Or with an interest to learn something new in the video game world."
"I signed my son up for a week of Super Smash Bros camp for one of the last weeks of August 2023, and I won’t lie; while I was stoked to get my son into a really excellent program, most area camps end the second week of August at the latest so that was a huge perk. But it was completely outshined by the actual program. Grant has a lifetime of knowledge in so many different games and systems, but that’s a side benefit. He creates an atmosphere that’s incredibly welcoming to all (we’re both autistic, my son and I), and his true goal is to make sure everyone is able to enjoy playing but also learn a lot of skills that are necessary now, like how to interact digitally as we move closer to a more digital world, skills that aren’t always honed well in other atmospheres. I wholeheartedly appreciate his sincere desire to see everyone succeed, and have fun while learning, while also ensuring it’s a safe and enjoyable space for all. I also really love that he has consulted professionals to figure out what the most appropriate beginning age is, while still being able to have hard conversations if a participant may be having trouble with the program (my son has a lot of skills, and one he is working on is awareness of his own volume, as well as generally being aware of how he is impacting others), and he doesn’t shy away from the hard conversations, which is something I’ve experienced a lot of with many attempting to sugarcoat situations; I appreciate the direct communication, his openness in discussions and his true dedication to the participants as well as being able to recognize when someone may not be ready for a group program or need additional support. I would highly recommend WNFC eSports Dojo to anyone with a child 4th grade and up, because it is run by an incredibly compassionate person who understands the intricacies of the style of gaming and how to best introduce and integrate kids into a situation that could result in a solid career path or potential college scholarships in eSports, which has grown immensely outside Vermont. I can’t recommend this highly enough."
"A great space to play and learn any fighting game (retro or modern), with a relaxed atmosphere. The locals who frequent the sessions are also knowledgeable and also add to the fun vibe of the space."
