"I've been enjoying this kimchi for years, but the last jar that I bought was so salty that it was inedible. I wrote the company and their response was that a clump of salt probably fell into the batch and that this what to expect with "small-batch, handmade kimchi." Sorry, that's not what a customer should expect. It's a sign of poor quality control. The batch size shouldn't matter. And if it's "handmade," shouldn't someone be paying attention to the ingredients? The absence of lot numbers on the jars is a clue to their poor QC. Anyway, they made no effort to reimburse or credit me so I returned the jar to Whole Foods for a refund. I don't like purchasing from companies that dismiss customer complaints. I won't be buying their products any longer."

"This is honestly some of the worst kimchi I’ve ever had. The flavor is very minimal, mostly vinegary but the aroma… wow. It smells like dumpster juice. It’s so disgustingly stinky that I have a hard time wanting to eat it. I make kimchi at home and I use fish sauce in mine. Even with fish sauce addition, I’ve never smelled kimchi this gross. My assumption is that the people claiming this to be the best kimchi they’ve ever had, have never had kimchi before."
