"I’ve had to switch doctors more than twice. Luckily I might have found one that has respect but almost every doctor I’ve had in this office has the worst bias in there care I’ve ever had to deal with. I’m someone with a history of mental illness and I still struggle with it to this day and I haven’t had the best medical care from these doctors other than like two. One retired. I was extremely sick this year for about 3 months and they ran some tests and because they didn’t know what was going on, instead of simply saying there wasn’t much they could do they would tell me it was in my head and tried to say I had bulimia when I’ve never struggled with that a day in my life. Just because I have binge eating disorder and I struggle with depression and other things I apparently am not aloud to get sick without being told I don’t know how I feel or other bias remarks. News flash family medicine it’s not always someone’s mental illness it’s sometimes our physical health. I’m afraid to express myself now because I know they will get angry and try to dismiss my symptoms and my experiences just because I’m mentally ill. This isn’t the 1800s anymore these doctors need to learn the difference between mental symptoms and physical. Anyone who has mental illness make sure you know what ur walking into before going to this office because I’ve seen this office for a while and before this office my self esteem was a lot better. Some doctors are good and don’t believe in the bias but others will blame ur mental health so they don’t have to admit the don’t know or don’t believe you."
"0 Stars Do you value trust and accuracy with your medical provider? If so, RUN AWAY, especially from Alison Chick. I have never felt so misheard, misrepresented, and manipulated by a medical provider and practice. The overall lack of professionalism is appalling. My husband and I both saw Alison Chick in March 2022 and I continue to be traumatized by my single visit with her nearly 10 months later. Before seeing Alison: - the real highlight of my experience with this practice was a nice man telling me that I'd need to wait another 20-30 minutes because they were running behind. It went downhill from here. - the nurse vented to me about our shared medical issue and her personal struggles. Once I finally saw Alison, she: -was incredibly impersonal and unprofessional. She made it clear there was no time or interest for establishing a relationship. This was a transaction and I was a number. -did not honor my request for the appointment. I requested that my first appointment with her be an annual preventive care visit, as it had been over a year since my last. She took over the appointment and took it in a different direction than a preventive care visit (more $$ for the practice). - pressured me into scheduling unnecessary follow-up visits (more $$ for the practice). - pressured me into getting flu and tetanus vaccines that the practice charged me $100+ of immunization fees to administer. I have never been charged immunization fees at any other practice I have been to after living in 8 other states. The man who administered them vented about his personal issues as he was administering the vaccines. - blatantly misrepresented our appointment in the visit notes. I reviewed the visit notes and noted at least 5 blatant inaccuracies based on what I had shared with her. The appointment was billed to insurance as something completely outside of a preventive care visit, resulting in a significant bill for me (and more $$ for the practice). In the weeks following the visit, I was frustrated when I received email notifications indicating that an appointment had been booked for me without my knowledge or consent. When I called, I was told it was a mistake and it was canceled. I question the security of individual accounts when it seems that anybody can schedule an appointment without patient approval. I raised my concerns and issues re: Alison Chick and account security with the practice manager, Mark Young, and requested a change of physician. My written portal messages were ignored. We played phone tag for over a week and I requested via voicemail that we communicate via email/written message, given our challenges in connecting, and particularly given how little trust I had with the practice given the events that had transpired. My request to communicate via written form was ignored entirely and he never called me back again. I found it unsettling that he was not willing to discuss these matters via a referencable form. Neither my husband nor I will see a provider through UVM Health Network again unless critically necessary. It is clear that profits come before patients. The overall lack of professionalism, trust, and accuracy inspire no confidence in their ability to manage anything remotely complex."
"Staff very friendly and professional. Following the Covid-19 protocol. My MD is very professional, listens, and is knowledgeable. Always treats his patients with respect. Would recommend this practice to anyone!!"
"I have only had positive experiences at this office for the little over a year that I have been a patient there, but I am happy with the care. My doctor was able to attend to two of my chronic medical problems successfully, and one of these had previously eluded adequate treatment for several years. Then when an urgent visit was needed, I was seen quite promptly. Two of my family members are also treated at this office by my doctor, and also are happy with the care. A third family member is seen there by one of the nurse practitioners and is perhaps a little less happy, but I lack the data on this. I myself am an older physician and have to say that many of the basic treatment algorithms have changed since I was trained, so that some things appear more casual and less rigorous than I am used to, but I nonetheless support this practices' approach, as so far everything important has been addressed competently and with respect. FWIW, I have had contact with two of the M.D.s here for various of my issues."
"Great doctors and practitioners. In response to the other review this DR office is for current patients. If you are not a current patient please go to Express Care. There is a site only a few miles towards Stowe."
