"The food is great. Never had a problem in that department. Sitting down and eating is cool. The inside is welcoming, and all that. Picking up an online order, you still stand in line with customers who's order is being made. Their payment system sends and email with no pick up time. That's annoying when you're ordering a hot sandwich. The owner. Oh boy, the owner. This man is really something else. Very condescending, extremely rude, and best of all, knows everything. He called me out in front of a line full of people because I had my service animal with me. But then, he told me that I'd have to leave the establishment and walk outside to the creemee window to pick up online order. (It's already been confirmed and paid for.) If you visit, try your best to avoid the oldest looking guy behind the counter and you'll be fine."
"Very good bagels. Fast, organized service. Lots of variety. Great friendly staff."
"I've been a patron of this cafe since I moved to VT in 2016 and, while I am sure I am not the only one who has done so, I was met with absurd resistance today after asking a simple question: can I use a table to take a meeting? I started by asking an employee, who was somehow taken aback by my question and physically recoiled as I approached him. Shortly after, the owner and/or manager asked me what I needed and I asked if I could sit in the restaurant for a few moments to take a meeting. He responded with "sure" but then asked me if I planned to patronize the establishment. I told him no, I've already had my coffee but just needed a quick place to set up for a meeting - he responded with "so you just want to use our place like a library?" I responded with "is that ok? I'll happily leave if not" and with his back to me, he says "sure whatever". I honestly doubt anyone else would have had the courtesy to ask but I did so knowing I wouldn't buy anything but didn't want to be late for my meeting. I would have been more than happy to leave if he responded in a more professional and friendly tone; however, I was met with outright rudeness and it was unnecessary. I'll never be back."
"The food is predictably good but the online order pick up is consistently a mess. Every time I order in advance I end up standing around by the register in line with other people trying to pick up orders and the people behind the counter never look up, never acknowledge you are there while ringing up customers from the line, and when someone picking up finally gets someone's attention they hand them their order and completely ignore anyone else trying to pick up. I guess they assume I just really like standing aimlessly in front of the cash register? More often than not the only way I can get my order is by waiting in the order line I was trying to avoid in the first place. My lunch break from work end up being spent in line waiting to pick up the bagel that is already made and wrapped up and ready for pick up, leaving me with a few minutes to hastily eat half before my lunch break is over. I keep optimistically hoping "this time will be better" and order earlier, trying to avoid the lunchtime rush, but it never is."
"A pretty solid bagel shop. Fair prices, relatively good bagel and topping variety. They did not carry vegan cream cheese which was unfortunate as most bagel places in the area do carry it. The bagels were traditional American bagels. I got the cheddar jalapeño with egg salad and my partner got garden vege with hummus on an Italiano bagel (seemingly an everything bagel). Overall the food was good. The line was a but confusing and could made clearer with arrows or better signage. They had some coffee equipment but it seemed largely closed down when we visited at 10am. Overall it was a pretty good bagel and we will likely stop by again (hopefully to find some vegan cream cheese or tofutti for my partner!)."
