"This school is amazing. I've had four teenagers here for the last three years and we have loved it. The music program, choir and band, have been especially great. They have also been a part of the two huge musical theater productions, "Les Miserables" and "Phantom of the Opera." Both were stellar. The entire community was blown away by the talents of these high school kids! But the best part is that the students are humble, kind kids. There are no "cliques" or groups that exclude anyone. That is more important to me as a parent than the ranking of the football team. But they have great heart and the sports games are fun to attend because people cheer each other on. The administration is caring and accessible. The teachers as well. The building itself is old, but they are constructing a new building now that will be ready this fall for the new school year. Academically, many AP classes are offered. If you want to excel in academics, you can here. You need to carefully select the most experienced teachers and best classes, but it is absolutely available. It's nice to be in an environment where you are free to reach whatever goals you set for yourself and you're given encouragement and help, but you are not forced into any one path and not made to feel lesser if you decide to do military or trade school after high school. All the students respect and encourage each other. All in all, we have loved NM and I would encourage anyone who is researching school districts to consider NM with it's caring administration and faculty, it's fantastic arts programs, it's fun sports spirit, it's academic opportunities, but most of all, the kind and generous student body and families that truly give NM the Patriot spirit."
