"The Saint Johnsbury school system, board of education, and mostly the Academy does NOT support nurses. The Academy refuses to allow our 16 year old daughter to attend school there for free like the other children in this area, because my wife is a travel nurse. Even when shown proof that we have a 1 year lease in Saint Johnsbury, and my wife’s contract, they refuse a free tuition like all the other children that live in this area. They are requiring us to change our permanent residency to allow our child to attend school. Which we won’t do. My wife took a contract here because of the nursing shortage, and the pay was decent. My daughter has already been denied the ability to go to the high school in Danville, for roughly the same reason. The law says children must attend school until they’re legal adults. The schools here are giving us a choice between our daughter receiving and education, or a lawsuit if my wife is forced to break her contract, so our daughter isn’t forced to quit school and get a GED, instead of a diploma. It’s obvious they only care about money, and not about providing equal opportunity education."
"The St. Johnsbury Academy used to be known as a prestigious school for all feel welcome. It was a campus that promoted unity, safety, and above all, an unbiased learning environment. That has drastically changed to the detriment of our children's safety and overall welfare since the new Headmaster arrived! The latest email sent home was the most egregious display of creating division on a campus by an "educator" I've ever seen in my life! It is becoming dangerously clear that if you do not think like her, you're a target and will feel bullied. Furthermore, sending an email home with such clear bias that is filled with inaccurate information should be cause for her dismissal! It's no longer a healthy learning environment for children instead it's become a podium for her personal beliefs. There is no place for that here!"
"Been here for my last 3 years of high school. Definitely would recommend it, for your kids. This school really cares about their students."
"Went here for the first three years of my high school years, now I am going to go into early college. Thank you to the Academy for all that you did to prepare me for this!"
