"It was all going well I had Dr.Yadati and the good Dr. Before him for many years and they cared and put me on the right meds when I needed them but then they left and I got Nurse Blemish a nurse practitioner and not only did she not give me the sleeping pills when the others did she tried to wein me off of the Xanax which I've been on for many years....not helping me and it said in the computer not to give me depression meds and ....you guessed it she did and I didn't realize it til months down the road. i don't understand...where's the help I needed like the good Doctors before her....I was forced to find a caring doctor.... preference a Doctor...bad history with nurse practitioners at the Elliot....it's a shame"
"Wait time for appointment is excessive. Too many “hoops” to jump through just to get an appointment. Missed initial counseling session, when realized and called to reschedule, was not offered an option and clinical director did not allow option to reschedule and instead withdrew me from the program. This is a mental health treatment center!! Of course people that are NOT MENTALLY STABLE MAY HAVE ISSUES WOTH REMEMBERING THEIR APPOINTMENTS. It says a lot about the program that is so quick to drop a client. Med provider was also super judgemental and did not bother to follow up around if I was suicidal or safe. She changed my entire medication regimen, with me voicing I didn’t think I’d be able to follow the regimen, she responds with “just give it a try anyway”. Guess what? It didn’t work. I work in human services and I am just so disappointed with the services and treatment I received from Elliot Behavioral Health. I WILL NOT BE REFERRING ANYONE TO THIS PROGRAM MOVING FORWARD BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE. This is so disappointing. We can do better!!!"
"I don’t write google reviews unless absolutely necessary, this one is necessary. If you’re looking to go to this hospital for any sort of actual psychiatric help, choose somewhere else. I stayed in their inpatient unit voluntarily for six days. On the fourth day I spent five hours intermittently banging my head against a wall. They have cameras in the rooms and pretty much anywhere but the bathroom. They have someone watch the cameras 24/7. I was asked a few times if I was ok. Never asked about harming myself. I had to tell them myself. Which sure that’s fine. But after I told the nurse I was pretty much berated and told I should be thankful for the life I have I am blessed. As someone who is seriously mentally ill this is the worst thing you can say. Anyways. Was watched all night, that is fine, actually reasonable at this point. Come the next day we have treatment team. I walk in to a room of five people staring at me with more contempt than my 19 years old suicidal self could handle. No empathy. No soul. Asked the routine questions. “We’re going to discharge you around Friday.” Well I mean that’s only two days away, might as well go tomorrow. I signed a 24 hour because I knew they were kicking me out for liability. They Told me I should’ve asked for help, I was voluntary after all. As they watched me harm myself for hours. The morning of treatment team I reported severe suicidal thoughts and they wanted to discharge me in two days. I was obviously “too sick” for them. Thanks pathways, you just released someone who was obviously actively suicidal and actively self harming. You’re wonderful."
"Look out for the older lady at the front desk. No greeting and flat out rude. Just the type of person you need at a behavioral health center...…NOT. The other staff members were very polite and knowledgeable regarding mental health. To the health care workers, thank you. To the lady at the front desk, get a new job, or use one of the councilor's to work on your stress/behavior."
"AVOID- DR. NOVOTNY HAS DESTROYED THE PRACTICE. I had been going to the same mental health clinic in Manchester, New Hampshire for 16+ years, from age 14/15. I've had maybe three or four doctors through that clinic before Dr. Novotny. All of them were wonderful and understanding people who hhelped me enormously over the years. Then my previous psychiatrist left the clinic and Novotny joined the practice. I have never been so attacked by a mental health professional. The very first appointment with her, she outright accused me of being addicted to more than one of my medications, some of which are not prescribed by psychiatrists (so it really wasn't any of her business- not her area of expertise, so she shouldn't have a professional opinion). When I told her that was absolutely untrue and not one of my previous psychiatrists had ever raised that concern with me, she had the gall to lie and say my previous psychiatrist had written this in his notes. I've since requested and received all my records from the clinic, nowhere does it say that any of my psychiatrists have been concerned that I was potentially abusing or otherwise misusing my medication. She went on to continue to accuse me of having a substance abuse problem and say other demeaning, abusive and confrontational things, despite the fact that I have been diagnosed with ODD and panic attacks and it's known (in my notes from previous previous psychiatrists) authority figures are a trigger to activate those disorders to become acutely symptomatic- and it did. I didn't have the best behavior that day, but I'd argue that she was disgustingly unprofessional. I went on to be stuck seeing her for about 18 months, as the pandemic began shortly after that visit and it was impossible to find another physician. During that time, she had completely changed nearly all my medications, taking me off some, putting me on others and reducing the dosage of a medication that I've been on since age 17. I've had the same mental health medications for over five years before this. This had the result of worsening my depression, worsened auditory, visual and tactile hallucinations, suicidal thoughts, extreme anxiety, renewed PTSD symptoms, and psychotic episodes. I've since been able to find another wonderful psychiatrist at a different facility. I did not want to write about what happened to me online until I had secured a new psychiatrist for fear of retribution. But the damage has been done, and I plan on going to the hospital for a voluntary commitment because my mental state has suffered intensely. If you've been referred to her, ask to be referred elsewhere. She's terrible with mentally ill patients and she was rude and abusive towards my family members who contacted her because they were concerned about my mental health. I don't know what her problem is, but I don't think she's a competent psychiatrist. If you notice, the reviews on this facility were good until two years ago. That's when Novotny became the main (and then the only) doctor at the practice. Other than her, there are only nurse practitioners that have to do what she tells them too. I've heard other horror stories worse than mine from her current and ex-patients. Avoid like the plague."
