Reviews
"Loved the personal attention and comfort of this small female owned salon! Tons of color options and I am shocked that there is zero chemical smell!! My nails (mani/pedi) turned out spectacular"
"My first time going here was the BEST I could have hoped for! I got a gel pedi, she actually gave me advice on what to use on my cracked heels and feet in general. Now, I come from NYC where pedicures are cheap and amazing but you’re in and out with no convo so this was a nice surprise to have some conversation and information with the pedi. The pedi itself was great, this is a one woman shop so understand she may be going from you to another client, you’re in a massage chair, deal with it. My toenail on my big toe cracks easily, she was able to add acrylic basically building me a nail, not even all places in NYC can do that! Did I mention I am on week 4 and my toenails are still presentable. I’ll definitely be coming back here for all my pedis!!"
"I just moved to VT and let’s just say, I’m so happy I found Ms. Hong and her nail salon! I don’t understand the negative reviews as I had nothing but an amazing experience today and my nails look wonderful… much better than how they looked from the salon I was going to prior to moving here. Regarding the price, it is reasonable and I’m a firm believer in you get what you pay for. I will definitely be a regular client at Essentials Salon. Thank you Ms. Hong for the wonderful manicure and great company this afternoon!"
"I went in to get my nails done and the nails came out fine, but this woman was extremely unprofessional. She went back and forth from my nails to another clients nails and the whole process took about 3 hours when she said it would only take 1. She talked about how she didn’t like her daughters baby-daddy because he was black. She had an all lives matter sign in her window and wouldn’t stop correcting my posture because apparently the catholic nuns would’ve whipped me with bamboo where she’s from. She got upset with me for putting my hand down because it would make the dust from the sander stick to my polish when she could’ve just wiped it away but never did. She also repeatedly nicked my cuticles with the drill and even pushed it against my skin long enough I ended up bleeding. When I pointed it out all she said was “Beauty is pain” No apology. Not even and “are you okay?” Overall horrible experience. Ok nails but they were overpriced in my opinion. I would suggest avoiding this place at all costs. Update: it’s been less than 24 hours and the polish on my nails is now peeling and It is still wet underneath the first layer."
"I’m giving them a 5 star review because this is a mom and pop shop, but I also want to help set the expectations. Everyone is complaining about price, but this is Vermont everything is expensive, she’s the only one that does a pedicure nearby and honestly I have always paid this amount for pedicures in multiple different locations in other states. Pro: she has a lot of colors to pick from, she’s extremely friendly and she helped me give me advice on what color would look best for me. And she picked a good one! She is very chatty, but I feel like that’s just small town vibe. The place has stuff all around so if you are looking for the bougie nail experience this isn’t it. I did have to go home and file my toe nails to make them straight cause they were cut super wonky. But I needed my toes does asap and she did it. Would I go back? I don’t know, it depends. I’m not giving her low stars but hopefully this review just sets your expectation."
