About the Field, Farm and Forest
Field, Farm and Forest is an institution located at 2074 Darling Hill Road in Lyndon, Vermont, United States. Our mission is to cultivate curiosity, community, and nature connection in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. We invite you to join our flock and learn more about our educational approach, admissions process, and tuition at the Kinglets Nature School tab.
At Field, Farm and Forest, we offer a nature and play-based preschool program that emphasizes the importance of outdoor time and self-directed learning experiences for children. Research shows that spending time in nature and engaging in free play have numerous benefits for a child's development, including emotional, physical, sensory, cognitive, and social growth. By fostering a connection to nature at a young age, we aim to inspire children to become environmental advocates and land stewards in the future.
Our team of teachers brings a wealth of experience in education, including backgrounds in independent and public schools, non-profits, homeschooling, and childcare programs. We all share the belief that a childhood filled with play and nature immersion is essential for the well-being of both children and the natural world. Our teachers, including founders Mary Jo O'Neill, Jessica Simpson, and Kristen Langlais, along with Emily Bache and Maria Newland, are dedicated to creating an authentic and nature-based learning environment for our students.
Field, Farm and Forest began as a nature school for 3-6 year olds in 2013 and has since evolved to offer programs for children of all ages, including homeschool programs, workshops, and summer programs. As a 501-3c non-profit organization, we rely on the support of our community to fund our mission of providing equal opportunity in our programs. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, gender, gender identity and/or expression, or sexual orientation.
Join us at Field, Farm and Forest to experience the wonders of nature, foster a love for the outdoors, and cultivate a strong sense of community and connection to the natural world in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom.
