Hyde Away,

"I'm so sad. We love hyde away for dinner and has been our go too for years. Reservation for 7:45, arrived a little early happy to wait and have a drink at the bar. 8pm came and went and host never said our table was ready. While at the bar for 30 plus mins the whole time the kitchen was on hold. We left, host didn't have our table and if we did get seated we would have had to wait to put in food anyways. Kitchen cook came out and yelled at the host about putting in any orders, that he would shut down the kitchen.. not appropriate for guests to hear. Please don't take the reservations if you can't accommodate."

"We just stayed here, ate breakfast here, drank at the bar here, and had dinner here - we loved all of it! We were in the Rooms Over The Bar and they were perfect - affordable, simple and convenient. The location is great, 10 minutes to Sugarbush, less than that to Mt Ellen or Mad River Glen. Highly recommend!"

"Stayed at that place a week ago. We rented fireplace room and enjoyed it so much. Staff is very friendly and helpful.  Breakfasts was good  , dinner exceeded all our expectations. Not to mention that  mountain lodge only 6 min away. Definitely going back."

"I have enjoyed the Hyde Away Inn off-and-on for over 20-years. Unfortunately, they lost me as a customer after a recent dining experience in late-December. We showed up on time for our dinner reservation on Dec 28 (3 adults, 2 children under 10). After a short wait, we were seated in the back room of the dining area. Our server was visibly overwhelmed and told us he would be right back, and to have our orders ready because the kitchen was backed up and if we wanted food (we did), we better be ready. After taking our drink and food orders, we were served water. Bar drinks never came. Refills of water never came. The server checked in on us 40-minutes later with no updates on our orders. We asked for bread. After waiting 1 hour and 30 minutes (no drinks, no food) the bread arrived ($8 list price). Nearly 2-hours after sitting, we watched our frantic server and a chef come walking to our table to explain that there had been a miscommunication and two of the mains (burgers) were no longer available and none of the food had been fired yet. The chef explained that he would be happy to make any other item on the menu for us. We declined and left. In 2 hours, we were never served drinks or food. Considering we ordered 2 burgers, 2 orders of chicken fingers, and the duck main, it seems inexcusable. In hindsight, stupid us for being so patient. The most outrageous thing is that a manager/owner never came to apologize or explain to us what was happening. Staffing issues come up, food mixups happen, but we were made to feel like we were at fault and being unreasonable. Sadly, we will never come back and I would highly recommend finding another local spot to give your money to. I imagine that we might get a response saying that it was high season, and very busy, and these things happen. All may be true, but don't overbook your restaurant if you cannot accommodate people."

"Room was excellent-loved the fireplace! Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom came with a bath mat which I thought was a nice touch. I do wish the breakfast was served a little longer of that there was coffee maker in the room. The owner and staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. The reserved parking space was a nice touch. Would recommend for a getaway."
