"Disgustingly dusty room, a toilet seat worthy of a gas station restroom, and an owner who doesn't seem to care, as he sent his manager to deal with our complaint because he was "busy changing." $400 a night for this. Appalling. We had to leave in the middle of the night and go to a Best Western in Rutland that was far cleaner than Swift House. See accompanying photos. Those who read this will be able to discern, by evidence of the grimy cloths in the photos, that we did, in fact, leave the room CLEANER than we found it upon our arrival. As for the owner's further lies accusing us of verbal abuse, nonsense. Yes, we were rightfully upset about the filth, and Jeremy even admitted as much. The owner's first mistake was to behave dismissively about the level of filth he expects his guests to sleep in. He compounded his mistake by resorting to victim blaming and insults to cover his own ineptitude at properly managing his property. For those traveling to areas south and east of Middlebury, I highly recommend the Woodstock Inn and the Inn at Ormsby Hill. Both are beautiful, Immaculate properties with owners who clearly care about the comfort of their guests."
"We enjoyed every moment of our stay at the swift house inn and are already planning our next trip back. From the second we walked in and received a warm welcome from the owners, to our dinner at Jessica’s with our top notch server, Jay, we knew we had selected the perfect location for our new years/ anniversary getaway. Our only regret was not participating in the kimchi class as the kimchi that came with the pork belly at the restaurant was some of the best we’ve had. Every bite we consumed during our stay was divine, especially the morning pastries. There is too much to mention in one review but you certainly cannot go wrong by choosing to stay at this inn."
"Was really looking forward to spending a few nights here, but it ended up being incredibly disappointing. There was an inch of dust on nearly every flat surface in the room… the fan blades, the baseboard, the tv cabinet, and the worst was on the bed frame and posts. We have allergies and asthma, so this was completely unacceptable… would expect a lot more from a place with 4.8 google rating that charges an exorbitant amount of money."
"We weren't wearing our Sunday best as we were on a business trip, and our business is construction management. It was 4 45 PM on a Wednesday when we arrived, one gentleman in our party was staying at the Inn, so we decided to try the restaurant. We were quickly informed that they didn't open until 5, so we decided to wait in the bar, we were quickly informed that there wasn't a bartender available on Wednesday evenings. As we were hungry and undeterred, we waited for our associate to return from dropping his briefcase in his room, and we were seated. We were quickly informed how lucky we were as they usually are booked solid and do not cater to walk ins. Our waitress quickly introduced herself, and her frown became a quick smile after a few words. The food was good, as was the service. Upon getting halfway through my coffee, the original gent with all the kurt responses returned and "invited" us to finish our conversation at the bar without a bartender. Obviously, his wide open restaurant had become quite busy, and he needed the table. What he really needs is a crash course in manners. We were somewhat ready to leave as it was a long day of travel and meetings. As I arose from the table, I noticed one elderly couple being seated amongst the 2 other occupied tables of elderly couples along with 4 or 5 empty tables to choose from. I guess my flannel shirt, jeans, and clean workboots are frowned upon at the not so Swift Inn. Our client picked up the tab and gave the nice waitress a strong tip. Very strange evening, unfortunately the not so Swift Inn gets a thumbs down from me due to the snarky manner in which we were treated, all that was missing was his red nose and big floppy shoes."
"Excellent hospitality! Beautiful rooms! World class food and wine in Jessica's Restaurant. We felt like we were long time diners rather than our first time. We can't wait to return."
