Freedley Quarry

"Anybody giving this place less than 5 stars is just nitpicking. This place is astonishing to see in person. The size of underground mine is gigantic! About a mile walk up the mountain from the parking area. Yeah there some graffiti and trash but that’s the norm at some of these spots. Yet does not take away from how mine blowing the spot actually is."

"Wow!! What a super amazing place, definitely a cool place to go to!! Crazy to see all the beautiful stone and rock! Put it on your list to do, definitely a must see!"

"If it weren't for the trash, old car seats, and graffiti, this place would be 5 stars. Wish there was signage giving some history of the mine and its operation. But that would probably be covered in graffiti too!"

"Super cool spot, a rather leisurely 1.25 mile hike up. Gate is currently closed to off-road vehicles. Would exercise caution taking a low clearance vehicle up to the gate."

"Cool spot! A little over a mile hike in that was mostly shaded. Looks like you could have drove up in atvs at one point but not when we visited. There was a metal bar blocking vehicles shortly after the entrance from the road. The Quarry was Erie and dark even mid day. A bunch of graffiti on the cave walls and a good bit of water in the lowest parts."
