About the Business
The Vet Center located at 640 Marlboro Street in Keene, New Hampshire, is a community-based counseling center that provides a wide range of social and psychological services to eligible Veterans, service members, including National Guard and Reserve components, and their families. The center offers professional counseling to assist with the transition from military to civilian life, as well as support after experiencing traumatic events such as military sexual trauma (MST). Services include individual, group, marriage, and family counseling, as well as referrals to other VA or community benefits and services. The center's counselors and outreach staff, many of whom are Veterans themselves, are experienced in addressing the challenges of war, loss, grief, and trauma.
In addition to the physical location in Keene, the Vet Center also operates 83 Mobile Vet Centers (MVC) that provide confidential counseling and outreach services to individuals in communities that are distant from existing services. The MVCs can access records through encrypted connections and are often called upon to support emergency services in response to national emergencies and disasters.
For those in need of support, a free, around-the-clock confidential call center is available at 1-877-927-8387, where Veterans, service members, and their families can discuss their military experience or any other issues they may be facing in transitioning after military service or trauma. The call center team consists of combat Veterans from various eras and family members of Veterans.
In FY 2023, over 115,000 individuals received readjustment counseling at VA's Vet Centers, with nearly 1.3 million service encounters. Additionally, teams engaged with over 162,000 people through outreach activities. The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs oversees the Vet Center program and provides resources for those in crisis or experiencing thoughts of suicide through VeteransCrisisLine.net.

"Keene vet center is USELESS!! The director Richard Wren said, "after reviewing your charts your case is too complicated for our resources!!" WITHOUT EVEN MEETING WITH ME!!!!! He judged me from a chart. And he's dishonest claiming he tried calling many times but I don't have a voicemail set up. WHAT!? I've had voicemail from day one. He just picks and chooses from a chart. I'll stick with the VA that me ay be able to deal with, "a complicated case". Thanks for deserting me in a time of need when I just needed someone to lend an ear."
