"Wen have been coming to Stowe for some 15 years. There have always been a decent variety of fine dining places to visit. It seems that the opening/closing/transferring of ownership is constant. One such place is Grant's Restaurant located within the Stowe Village Inn. Our visit was in January 2023. The setting is one of a nicely restored old home with a expansive bar, several tiers of dining and a broad set of windows that look out onto Stowe. I had a $5 margarita (special), buffalo wings and chicken marsala. My wife had Linguine carbonara. All were excellent! The service provided by Kelly was as good as is humanly possible. She was attentive to my allergy issues. At times to better communicate with me and my wife she was stooped down to her knees. Very cheerful, and doing everything in her power to make our dining experience memorable. For those who are familiar with Stowe, VT, Grant's in on par with Harrison's, Salute and Michaels on the Hill. John N Union, NJ"
"Highly recommended! We are visiting from the Midwest and staying at the inn, so we opted to try Grant’s. The restaurant has a good list of available beverages, including lots of local beers and a selection of specialty mixed cocktails (and mocktails). Two of us started with a Caesar salad, enough to share with the others at our table. We ordered the seafood jambalaya, salmon, seared duck breast and porterhouse pork chop. All meals were cooked properly, with sides of risotto, seasonal vegetables and brussel sprouts. We did not get dessert, as all of us were full from dessert. There are at least 8 appetizers to choose, plus 4 salads, 8 medium plates (with one side) and 10 main plates, plus 1 special main plate and medium plate. We would definitely eat here again if we travel back to this area."
"The location of this restaurant and its views are stunning, but the food and service left us wanting more. We started with the pretzel logs with cheese dip. The house-made cheese dip was amazing! However, three minutes after our appetizer came out, our food came out. The timing definitely could have been better, there. For dinner, I ordered grilled cheese and tomato soup, which I was really looking forward to on a cold and rainy day! However, when it came out there were MAYBE two slices of half-melted cheese on the sandwich. The soup tasted okay, but was really chunky (not with tomatoes). For a $14 grilled cheese and tomato soup, I was not impressed. I can make a cheesier grilled cheese and yummier tomato soup at home for half that price. Additionally, when my husband and I passed on ordering drinks, our server seemed confused by that and for the rest of the night he definitely focused on his tables that WERE ordering drinks. Overall, the views and atmosphere were nice, but the food and service were subpar. If it weren’t for the views and good cheese sauce, we would’ve given it one star."
"We weren't sure where to go for dinner and drove by the Inn where this restaurant is located. The dining room is really nice, but we sat out on the deck (also very nice!) where there were multiple people dining, live music (Not offensively loud and the artist was quite good) and a fire pit with people hanging out. It was a great atmosphere, very low key or "chill" as I would say. The food was excellent but we did not have menu items, we had the specials which were a braised short rib and a linguini with white wine clam sauce and pancetta. Both were delicious. I would highly recommend Grants based on atmosphere and the quality of our food even though we didn't have their regular menu items. There are a lot of good restaurants in Stowe, add this one to your list."
