"I had an order for take out and what I received was NOT what I ordered, nor was it Mexican food! It was so gross tasting too. The salsa was a watered down, not even tomato tasting sauce. The enchilada was literally shredded boiled chicken in a wrap. No cheese in it, (which I specified along with a side of SALSA) not baked in the enchilada sauce either. It wasn't even baked! When I called to talk to them, they were rude. It tasted and smelled like Chinese food, definitely not Mexican. So disappointing!"

"Delicious authentic Mexican, which is hard to come by in Vermont! I’ve tried the birria tacos (pictured), flautas, chicken tostadas, tamales, and beef enchiladas, and all were great! It’s really nice to have something other than pizza, sandwiches, and burgers in Franklin county :)"

"Literally the worst service in town, absolutely no consistency. We have gone 3 times since they have opened and the food is ok-good (depending on what items you order) but you might as well staff the restaurant with goldfish, they would be more helpful. The service is getting worse the longer it is open. Here are some of the issues. 1: Had to ask for utensils (for soup) 2: Had to ask for napkins 3: Had to ask for a clean table. 4: Every time missing items from our order 5: 45 minutes + to get your food even when there are only 4-5 tables with people. The last straw was when we went in tonight and we were completely ignored by the waitresses for over 15 minutes (two other tables were sat and attended to during this time) we even had one waitress start cleaning the booth next to us. I realize Northern Vermont has zero choices for Mexican restaurants but this place is not worth your time."

"Overall some of the best Mexican I have had in New England. For just opening, the menu was appropriately sized. Looking forward to the additions on the menu. Will definitely return. Once Margaritas are added I will review again as a good Margarita is hard to find."

"Having lived in AZ for a time, I can tell you I am familiar with the differences of authentic Mexican and American Mexican. Los Jefes is definitely authentic cuisine but with some shortcuts. I sampled the Al Pastor, Birria, and Carnitas tacos. I also tried the quesobirria. Here is the good: The house made tortillas excellent. Protiens were also fantastic. Salsa was good in a plain way. Atmosphere and service were on point. (Even though it still has some lingering remenents of an Asian aesthetic). The bad: While the Taco portions are good and reasonably priced, the amount of salsa given with chips is very sad. They also charge $1 for extra salsa. I did have to add a good portion of salt to make the flavors of the salsa pop. I would say seasoning across the board needs to be stepped up. Also, nachos are not on the menu!?? The tortilla chips are not house made-to my knowledge. I did have a few stale ones in my basket, but I can overlook that. No liquor yet. Im told they are working on it. Margaritas will be a great addition so long as they do it right! Overall: I enjoyed the food and service. However, being a Mexican foodie myself, I do better at home. -seriously, no nachos!?!?!? Come on, Los Jefes!"
