Reviews of Prouty Beach
"Awesome place if you camp near the waterfront. The rest of the sites are tight"
"Extremely noisy campground. You will hear small airplanes, trains, garbage trucks at 4am, lawn mowers at 7am. There is a high school across the street and students seem to use the street to have loud muffler competitions and drag races before and after class. You will also hear the school's morning PA announcements at 7am everyday. The campsites are also very close together. There are 11 tent sites in a space more appropriate for 5-6 max. Campground is very well maintained, clean, and attractive. Bathrooms, showers, laundry room, all very nice. Small camp store is great, especially if you forgot ice! Very friendly employees. Lovely view of Lake Memphremagog and town of Newport. If you are deaf/hard of hearing, I would recommend. If you need peace and quiet, I would not recommend the tent campsites."
"Postings around Lake Memphremagog describe algae and white foam. Is this white foam killing the wild life? Wasn't there a recent concert to raise money for Lake clean up? Does anyone know where to find the clean up effort plans and funding ; amount goal & what's been raised so far? This poor turtle needed us. The Turtle is real. Saw it today around 1:30pm in right side about middle of walking bridge on path behind Prouty Beach. How safe is Lake Memphremagog for wildlife...for our children?"
"It was a nice stay. Only things I wish we recieved was a call or email about the "beach" being closed due to the water bacteria levels. I would have planned for other things instead as it was a hot week we went! We stayed at the tent site near the bathroom. NOTE T1: right next to bathrooms, it was mens then the park employee area then women's room. Didn't smell or have loud noises. Only a small wood fence baracading from neighboring tent site. No fault of the campground, but was very upset to have a dog next door growl and or bark at every movement we did or passerby. Made it feel uneasy for everyone around. Activities: Northern Cruise was fun! Go into town, it's cute! Stores near by all within 10 min (Walmart, Walgreens, Dunkin, McDonald's etc.)"
"We booked early and were able to get one of the spots on the bluff overlooking Lake Memphremagog and Downtown Newport. There is a beach nearby and also some easy walking trails. We had a relaxing stay."
