"Been using NEFCU for about 6 years and have always been proud that it was my bank. Since the recent merger, the customer experience has drastically tanked. Using Venmo or cashapp flags my card as fraud about 50% of the time, no matter how many times I confirm it is not. It’s now impossible to speak to a human via phone call until you sit through 10 minutes of a chat bot repeating itself. I cannot use my debit card on Apple Pay because it’s not authorized?? And I guess that means I’m required to get a new card and card # to continue banking, and that disrupts countless bills and subscriptions. I’m not a person who looks to gain anything from using a particular bank, just would like to not be negatively affected when spending my money."
"Since merging NEFCU has stepped back 20 years. The online website took hours to update bill pay accounts, the paying is now at the bottom and requires confirmation. The website is not intuitive. Next is the use of paper withdrawal and deposit slips at the CU sites. Really, twenty minutes inline to deposit and withdrawal, multiple slips and extra time processing the deposit and withdrawal. I hope things will improve"
"Lynna at the front desk needs a raise. She is the reason many of us come back to this location. She is helpful, is always pleasant, and goes above and beyond, especially to new Americans. I have watched her now twice help a new American in front of me. This is the customer experience we as long time members are used to, and is lacking over the phone since the merger. Vermonters like local, we want to speak to someone local, who can help us problem solve when issues come up. The worst thing about the merger is not having Zelle. This is a huge interference with everyday living. This merger has been frustrating in all parts. I have been a member for 20yrs, I’ll stick it out though in hopes we keep getting"
"We have been a long time member of NEFCU with no problems. But since the merge - nothing but problems - our member number was changed with out any notification. We were charge a late fee on our credit card with them even though I had paid the bill 15 DAYS EARLY. Their after hours service is useless. We are in the process of reviewing our options of switching to another Credit Union."
"Ever since their merger with VSECU, they havent been avle to provide me with so much as a confirmation number for y payments on loan. On top of that, the customer service has gone from excellent to HORRID. The 3 ppl I've spoken to on the phone have been so rude and unhelpful - Emily, especially. Understandably I have serious concerns about where my private information has disappeared because they cant seem to find it. They also don't have my payment history??? DO NOT RECOMMEND DO NOT DO BANKING WITH THEM"
