Reviews of North Beach Campground
"We camped here Oct 9, 2023 for 4 nights. It is a decent little campground and we did not experience anything being stolen or unsavory characters around. The spots were tight for our 26 ft camper, but overall it is a good value and perfect location to visit the area. We would stay here again and like the others, get a full hook up site."
"We booked and the people were friendly, easy refund when we were coming in a day late. We pulled in and found our spot, the site was tiny and hard to tell where our site actually was. We were in between two sketchy homeless people and decided to leave. The campground is right off a bike trail and open beach with little keeping people off the property. We didn’t feel safe and ended up going down the road to Mallets Bay campground where we felt safe, the campsites were huge and our stuff was not messed with."
"The location is good, the staff is fine, the actual camp grounds are adequate but the fact that 4 families got bikes stolen and there are homeless people in the bathroom and roaming around the grounds is unacceptable and unnerving. There is a gate to the path (that may or may not be closed after dark... no rhyme or reason). Where's the concern for those paying money to be safe and secured? The bathrooms are a whole OTHER level (pictures to document so you can form your own opinion) but there's mold and feces on so MANY things! I'm not talking bugs and leaves here people, I'm talking not anything you want to touch or have anything you own touch! We left two days early."
"We booked our stay here specifically because my daughter's apartment is 1/2 mile up the bike path in Old North End. I got a little nervous reading some of these reviews but she went by and told me not to worry. Are the sites tight and close together? Yes. Next time we will go for the full hook-up spaces. But we had no trouble getting into 74 with our 28 ft trailer once we came at it the other direction. I also recommend getting out and giving your site a good lookover and where to place your camper. That row itself at the end the sites are fairly level and easier to get into than some of the others, but you are at the main access to the beach and bike bath so there is a lot a foot traffic by you. Good people watching though! The people around us were super nice and friendly. Lots of French Canadian families. The bathrooms were definitely not up to par with other campgrounds we've stayed in. If I was at a full hook up I would not have had to use them as much. The fixtures were clean, it was really just the floors that got muddy and there were lots of cobwebs and spiders if you looked up. But for the money and location this is a great value. A hotel in Burlington is like $400/night. You are just a few minutes to downtown by car or bike, and having the beach with drinks and snacks steps away is wonderful."
"We enjoyed our multi-day stay at North Beach Campground. It's close to downtown and we biked there frequently. Also next to the beach which was great for cooling off. It's location can't be better if you are visiting Burlington. As others mention, the sites are close together and not very level in some cases. Our unit was within inches of our neighbors awning. I wish we had booked a full hook-up site as it might have made things a little easier. The bathrooms are also pretty atrocious. They are dirty most of the day unless you visit right after they clean them. The showers were dirty as well and lacked enough hooks or a bench to put your clothes for changing. We would definitely return simply due to the location and proximity to downtown."
