Reviews of Cumberland Bay State Park
"Nice clean park, clean facilities. Camping areas nice but some very sandy. The wind off the lake can be a lot. May want to consider non beach sites."
"We camp quite a lot, throughout the northeast and as far as Virginia Beach. This is one of the very best run parks we have ever been to. We saw park employees working and often spoke with to them. All were extremely engaging and helpful. I rarely do ratings but felt this one was worth doing. We had a great time and will be back. Try the Hungry Bear diner about 11 min away."
"Probably the best camping near the US Canada border. One hour driving from Montreal. Clean , not expensive with a lot of services ."
"Great campsite if you want to be at the beach all day. Really nice facilities with bathrooms, showers, a park and beach access. A lot of sites are close to the road or feel a bit out in the open, but if you’re just looking to hang at the beach all day, it’s perfect! Also, you can Uber food to the front desk or go into town to shop or eat within 10 minutes."
"This is one of our favorite places to camp and come for the day use. Lake Champlain is absolutely beautiful. The staff and lifeguards are very friendly. The bathrooms and showers are very clean and well maintained. That being said, lol, the last time we were there, we had a bad experience with some white trash from Vermont ( photos attached). They were loud and obnoxious from 11pm until 3 in the morning. Drinking, talking with slurred speech, and dropping the F bomb every other word. I called the campground overnight number, and a ranger/officer came at about 1am to tell them to quiet down, but they didn't completely stop until 3. Classic one person has to ruin it for everyone. Other than that, Cumberland Bay is a great place to camp as long as your site isn't next to Rte 314."
