"Moss Glen Falls in Stowe (not to be confused with the MGF in Granville, which is excellent but in very different ways) offers two opportunities for fantastic views. One is from taking the short hike up the trail, which gives views of the (near) full height of the falls. The second is from wading up the stream (before and to the right of the uphill hike) and around to the base of the falls. If you have the time and ability, I highly recommend both (the hike is on the easy side of moderate; somewhat steep but quite short) and the stream is easier but decidedly wetter (from the stream and the spray of the falls)."
"Very over populated for such a small hardly accessible water fall. Like 5 parking spots and no service. At least 20 people there on a Tuesday morning. Clean and pretty but wouldn’t go out of my way to see it again."
"The hike is relatively short, with the beginning portion very flat (mostly along a timber walkway through wetland/meadow), but it gets a little steep toward the end if you want to get up to the ridge overlooking the falls. You can also hike down to the stream bed and follow it to the base of the falls, where there are small pools you can wade/swim in to cool off. A good hike for family or young kids, as it's short and not too challenging, with the falls being a nice reward at the end."
"My family and I went on vacation to VT this year, & we were looking for waterfalls in VT to go to. I found this one and saw many conflicting information: a few miles of a hike, no hike and it being right there…etc from different websites. Here’s the truth: we got out of our car: there’s a super narrow path of wood with brush and weeds on both sides of you that need to really be trimmed since It gets in your way, and you walk a short distance until you reach the path that you can take to be up near the top to see the waterfalls or down below which is to walk in the water. I went up at first pretty easily but got to the top and afraid of heights so I couldn’t take best pics. Then, I went back down the path and went into the water. This is why it’s 5 stars: not for the path leading to the falls. My mom was able to take beautiful pics of me in the waterfall!! I was able to climb rocks and have pics of me in the water: definitely worth the trip: I’d suggest to others wear a bathing suit in case you want to be in the water: I wasn’t and got soaked. The water was really cold, and I went at the end of July. Overall, it was a wonderful experience & recommend you go with your family to Moss Glenn Falls. It definitely is worth a trip to be able to show others that you were in a waterfall and to appreciate the beauty of nature."
"This was a nice short hike. Started off easy and flat. As we got a little inward, it started to get muddy (wear those hiking shoes). There is a part right before the waterfall where it gets steep upward to view the falls, this is doable and it looks a lot scarier than it is. If you’re wearing proper shoes and are confident, you can make it up to see the waterfall. Worth it! Once you make it to the top there’s a sign that you can actually hop over and continue hiking (learned that from other reviews today but didn’t do it myself, heard it’s not the best after the falls). Overall, great and easy hike and I loved seeing the works of beavers!"
