"I wish I could give no stars, as an African American single mother living in Vermont this is not a place that help us! I have been discriminated against, lied on,railroaded and so on and it doesn't stop! I have been dealing with a HANDY for approximately 3 years and change and it's been nothing but hell on wheels and nobody seems to understand because why, the Handys own half of Vermont and they get to treat people however they want. Specifically because Vermont gives them the power to treat people however they want. But what they don't know is, advocating for myself and my child is when I stand on business. I could've been anything in this world but I'm constantly facing nothing but racism in this state. I hope to someday speak for myself and others that Vermont legal aid don't help. If I can be spacific I would but the one thing I want legal aid to know is that their is power in words, I don't need a penny to show ill intentions. I probably could have been a better lawyer than Bradley. He is rude unethical and have no skills when it comes to racism. The best thing he could do was tell me he was closing my case, why I don't know. But if u are African American and need help, don't look at legal aid. They will make u feel like a penny and that might be given them to much credit. Lastly as long as ago got the higher power in this corrupt world, I'll always win. Legal aid look down on us, but if I was a Ashley I probably wouldn't even be writing this! It's not what u do it's how u do it."
"Well I will be filing for myself and others in federal court concerning victims compensation, these people are paid by the state and other states to keep victims safe well looking at all these evictions on people that should be protected they aren't doing such a great job.Treat people better."
"We had a great experience with VLA especially our attorney Mairead and her staff. We can’t thank you guys enough. I strongly recommend everyone to receive help from them if needed and qualified. They are very professional and effective in their work."
"It’s taken me a year to write this review, but the people at legal aid are wonderful, supportive and are there with you until the end. Olivia in particular was a godsend for me when I was dealing with court stuff with my ex. She was very informative, she walked me through everything and never let me feel intimidated by my psycho ex. After everything was done she still called to check in a few weeks later and gave me more advice. They are great people. There was another woman who helped us and I can’t remember her name unfortunately but she also was a pusher and didn’t let my ex get away with things in court and she also helped me through the logistics of custody after the fact. Don’t be scared to reach out and ask for help. I wouldn’t be where I am if I hadn’t took the first step to meeting them"
"Wonderful people, place for those that cannot afford to hire an attorney! They are helpful, attentive & knowledgeable. They dont handle every type of law, but if you call they will help you any way they can! Be patient with your initial call. It generally takes a couple days to hear back! They are very busy!"
