"What I really appreciate about the Wood Theater is that 90% of all events that happen here are rentals! They provide lots of space for pretty much anything you can think of. Some of the things are concerts, theatrical events, and parties. Their rental rates are fair, and they offer 50% off all rental prices for nonprofit organizations, too! The Wood is a nonprofit organization itself, which I appreciate because it helps keep the prices for events as low as possible for the community."
"A staple in the local arts community, which hosts new works, a 24 hour play fest, the Adirondack Theatre Festival season, stand-up comedy and more. It is a safe, accepting location for any and all respectful lovers of the performing arts."
"What a local treasure! Thank you for keeping the arts alive! We attended a fabulous show last weekend and always have an amazing time!"
"Had a great time, play started on time. Actresses and actors were phenomenal. I thought I was on Broadway. Definitely recommend, and we'll be going again."
"Such a beautiful theater. It's neat and clean, and intimate, with seating for approximately 294 people. The acoustics are very good in the theater and I don't believe that there is a bad seat in the house. There's a great PA system unlike some of the smaller intimate theaters locally, where if you're in the back of the theater, you can't hear. That's not the case here. They really do offer quite a variety of shows for the young and old alike. They have beer and wine which is nice, and unlike some of the other theaters where you have to drink it before you go in to the theater, you are allowed to bring it to your seat, which is a HUGE plus. The theater is in the old Woolworth's building, so not only is it historical, but they've tried to keep some of the charm from the building. Woolworths had a luncheonette counter inside the building back in it's day, and the sign from Woolworth's luncheonette is displayed in the theater lobby, and it's in relatively excellent condition. The restrooms are in the basement, which can be a challenge for seniors and individuals with mobility issues. However, there is an elevator that will bring you down to the lower level to use the restrooms if you are not able to master the stairs. A gem worth a visit from anywhere, and definitely a place to revisit"
