"Pricey. Had been looking online at a certain model/maker custom aspen bed for a couple years. Finally ready to spring for it, spouse suggested visiting a local shop, to see what they might have before buying a $2k bed sight unseen. Upon looking at their beds, finding one similar, the frames are distinctive enough to have instantly realized it was from western US company I had been seeing online, vs a local artisan, which stands to reason as we dont have much elk chewed snow bent aspen in NH, and markup was about 2x, so $4k+. Went on sale online w manufacturer, no indication in store. Called to inquire about doing better, did not volunteer that info but agreed to match manufacturer sale price when I mentioned, still wanted 3 bills to deliver 11 miles and setup...delivery to our home was included w our purchase from maker, who is over 1000 miles away, and setup took maybe 15 min ourselves. Gorgeous, incredible craftsmanship, damage free and well packed, an instant heirloom. What I saved paid for a top of the line Sealy matress and split box springs. Do take the time to do your homework and shop around."
