"Very beautiful view. Water is available at the start, middle and finish so there is no need to carry a ton of it."
"Went on this trail for an overnight trip at Harvard Cabin, A good warning for doing so, this hike is definitely a challenge especially with gear. I managed to get some sweet photos of the ravine during sunset."
"Wonderfully hike, took us about 5 hours to climb. Make sure you’re climbing on a good weather day though. If its rainy then near the summit visibility drops drastically. Along the way there are multiple streams with clean fresh drinking water!"
"Wow. This was a very difficult hike up to Mt. Washington. We went with 2 kids and a dog and made it to the summit in 4 hours. It’s a pretty gradual incline for the first 2/3 of the hike and becomes more difficult in the ravine. There is a stop right before the climb through the ravine to water up which was awesome. A lot of rock scrambles and walking on boulders towards the top as well. The rock stacks were excellent incentives to push to the top. The views throughout the hike can’t be beat and the reward to making it to the top is extremely satisfying."
"The most stunning trail in New England! The trail is tame up to the hermit lake shelter, with gradual incline and waterfall view early on. At the base of the ravine there are a few ways you can go, I went in mid May and as a hiker lion head was the only option. I came up the ravine where skiers were going up but was forced down lions head since this was the only around washed out areas with several feet of snow depth. Going down lion head was also extremely difficult and I couldn't get back to the trail until about a mile below the ravine. Overall a very dangerous path for any hiker when there is deep snow trying to go above hermit lake"
