"My dental hygienist was fantastic -- I don't remember her name, but I know she drives down to Concord/Manchester for school multiple times a week. She was very thorough and made good conversation. Dr. Phillips, however, I found to be very unprofessional. He saw my broken tooth and the cavity within and told me I had two options: pull it or get a root canal. I asked him which he would recommend, to which he replied -- "I don't know. I'm not the one with a broken tooth." I asked yet again, thinking he was joking, what he would recommend I do. He yet again refused to give me an answer. I decided on pulling the tooth, but luckily I texted a couple people asking what I should do -- all of whom quickly responded to do the root canal and not get a tooth pulled -- so I was able to change my mind. I think it's ridiculous that he refused to provide me with any opinion whatsoever -- especially because he's the professional! I was genuinely bewildered by this interaction because I've never been given so little information/recommendations about what do to by any doctor when I was specifically asking."
"I recently visited Dr Philips, who also happens to be a hockey buddy, because after several terrible experiences with other dentists I needed a change. Fortunately, I got more than I expected. Angela, who met me at the front desk, was kind and friendly. She had me well-prepped for the pre- and post-visit. I knew just what to expect. Jessica, my hygienist, was respectful and caring. She explained every step of the cleaning process and allowed me to ask questions. In the end, I felt empowered to take care of my teeth and maintain my healthy record. It was the most comfortable I've ever been at a dentists' office. I actually look forward to my next visit - can you believe that?!"
"I am so pleased with my care from Dr. Phillips and his staff. After years of neglect, I finally started the campaign to save my teeth. Dr. Phillips showed extraordinary compassion toward me, which made all the difference, as I am unfortunately very nervous about dental visits. The years of neglect, along with bad habits, made for a very critical situation. Dr. Phillips laid out a plan to attack the damage that reassured me, and the results have been fantastic. Bridgitte was a great introduction to the work, very informative and encouraging. (it all seemed rather hopeless at the time) Dory provided me with the first practical lesson for using waterpik, sonicare and floss: her methods have helped me greatly improve my gum health. Melissa showed patience and skill when I popped a crown and lost the temporary. Angela has been masterful in the scheduling and information, which I cannot overemphasize helps reduce anxiety in the dentist office. Good healthy teeth are one of the keys to enjoying life (anyone who has suffered through a bad tooth will understand) and I am so glad that I have Dr. Phillips as my dentist. Thank you!"
"I've been to Dr. Phillips once before and had a positive experience, so I recommended the practice to my friends. However, this most recent time, my partner and I were met with extreme rudeness. All we wanted was a regular checkup and a cleaning, and we refused other services such as x-rays. The assistant (Bridgette) treated us as if we did not understand what x-rays were for and were simply stupid/uneducated. She told us that it was a "waste of her time" to clean our teeth if we weren't willing to purchase the full x-ray sets that cost over $400. She grudgingly did it anyway, but then informed us that if we dare come back for another cleaning they will refuse to provide us with care unless we buy all the bunch of extra products and services (i.e. x-rays) that we very explicitly told her that we didn't want. I have never been treated so poorly by a dentist, x-ray or no x-ray. Unbelievable. tl;dr: Extremely rude place, money hungry assistants. I pretty much got kicked out for refusing to buy extra services/products. I do NOT recommend it. I'm very disappointed, never going back."
"I had an apt today, and was most disappointed with my experience today after coming to the practice for several years. I felt "hustled" to buy products without given the appropriate education to make an informed decision about why I should be buying them, like I am the "stupid" patient, and will accept whatever the dentist recommends without any literature, education, background information. or simply facts. Since I work in health care, I was offended at these tactics. Also, these products are not cheap. Insurance being what it is, I end up paying for the majority of the costs. I make my decisions carefully, and I want to be well-informed. I do not feel I was given any information about why I should be spending my money. This is not the '60s where whatever the doctor/dentist says goes. Patients want to be informed consumers, not sheep. In addition, when Dr. Phillips came into the room, the room set up as it is, he entered from behind me, speaking to me, shaking my hand from behind me so I could not see his face. So much for personal touch. I felt like a machine on a conveyor belt. I was next, He was there to fulfill his responsibilities, no personal anything. Very disappointing. A quickie 5 minute either $49 or $101 charge to add to the coffers for...what? An opportunity to tell me I need to buy xyz without so much as a pamphlet explaining why?. As I have referred several people there from my first encounter which was a different story, I have to say I am sadly disappointed at what seem to be a factory line process.. I will have to reconsider returning. I don't like being treated like a sheep."
